What do you like most about being a Medicare agent?

Knowing my clients enables me to determine if they qualify for any additional benefits through the state. I am also proficient at helping my clients solve issues that may arise, as I have access to solutions outside of their plan.
My clients are part of my extended family!

What I like about being a Medicare licensed agent is I truly love what I do. My purpose is to help educate and inform people about health care and understanding individuals' needs and wants when it comes to their health care. It's important for people to be able to make informed decisions, particularly when it comes to Medicare and how confusing Medicare can be. But if you work with a licensed agent, they can actually guide you through it. I take great pride in helping people make informed decisions about their care. Not only today, but where your health is gonna be in the future. Because whatever decisions you're making today can have an impact on you in the future.
To me, it's about the relationship I have with my clients that helps me get through this. I say if I'm digging ditches and climbing roofs at 72 years old, I'm not gonna be able to do that. But my heart and passion is helping people understand our health care system, which I've been doing for 23 years, and I truly love what I do.
So when it comes down to helping people navigate through our health care system, whether that's Medicare or any health plan, it's about understanding what people's needs are, not only today, but what our future needs are. So for me, I'm truly honored to be able to help folks make informed decisions when it comes to their health care.

Hi, thanks for watching. So, kind of a weird question, but they're asking, "What do you like most about being a Medicare agent?" I'm actually a Medicare broker, and that means I'm an independent broker. I don't work for any insurance companies, but I represent a lot of them here in the Phoenix area. The biggest benefit to being a broker is that I can help people cut through all the confusion and understand, as best they can, their Medicare coverage. Honestly, there's a lot of shady agents out there, so you have to really, like they say, choose wisely. Do your homework on people. Figure out what they're all about. If they do other lines of insurance, maybe they're not an expert in Medicare. Because as we all know, you can't be an expert at everything. It took me a long time to understand all this and to really get good at it, and that's all Sue and I do, is Medicare.

I operate with morals, values, and integrity. I have been hurt by people who sold me based on greed or malicious intent. I never want a client or proposed client to even question that. So as long as I can respect the person in the mirror each day, know that I am doing a needed service for someone with care and sincerity, and provide for my family and future in the process, my satisfaction is fulfilled!

I have had various members of my family who had strokes and dementia that required Long Term Care. Thankfully when my mother had a massive stroke and required Long Term Care, she had previously purchased a Long Term Care insurance policy from me which allowed me to place her in a top notch nursing home for her specialized long term care. I had family members who went to the nursing home and lost everything they owned and ended up on Medicaid. This is the most satisfying part of my job, is protecting my clients and their families from the burden of Long Term Care.

I work primarily in the senior space; over seeing a provider group, my wife and I own Red Mountain Funeral Home in Mesa AZ and having an insurance agency Speros Financial Group. The combination of these allows us the opportunity to help more people than ever expected.
Medicare has all kinds of options for folks to pick from, being able to spend time with folks and really find out what they need out of their Medicare plan no matter if I get paid or not. Knowing at the end of the day I truly helped someone out, find something that best suits their needs.
Makes it all worth it in the long run and keeps me going day to day. Hearing... Thank you :)

From St. Agatha to Waterville and from Macias to Moosehead lake Northern Maine meeting new people has been very rewarding. Over the first 9 years benefits on all plans were improving we it was exciting to get you more benefits for less money. In 2025 and I believe even more so in 2026 benefits will be tightening, so it is more important than ever to find a local agent who enjoys answering you questions year around and helping you find the best plan for your individual wants and needs.

Over time, I changed my career path from the property and casualty insurance so I could learn the intricacies of Medicare and be able to assist more of my family. Little did I know at the time that I would eventually leave as a captive agent and branch out as an independent agent with my own business.
As I grew more experienced in this field, my passion for helping others only deepened as I continued within the industry. I provided assistance to insurance carriers within the industry to help facilitate more options for Medicare beneficiaries within the market.
Unfortunately, I also witnessed firsthand how some agents exploited seniors, even going so far as to use my business name unethically to boost their commissions. These experiences only strengthened my resolve to operate with integrity and advocate fiercely for those I serve.
Being an independent broker allows me the freedom to get to know my customers, understand their unique needs and provide appropriate solutions tailored to their needs. I am intentional in picking up as many contracts as possible with insurance carriers to facilitate those needs. I receive a lot of referrals because my clients know that I am one who can be trusted. I operate with integrity to the extent that I will enroll clients in products that may not offer commissions. I started with my family. Now, I am here for yours!

What do I love most about being an independent Medicare planning advisor? Without a doubt, it's the people. It is helping those find clarity and confidence in their health care decisions. When folks come to us, they're confused, they're stressed, and they're nervous about what their health care coverage looks like and what it costs. Being able to bring the time into that decision and helping give people relief and that clarity and confidence is by far the most rewarding aspect of what we do. Until next time, be healthy and be well.

I am known for
"Making Medicare Simple"!
Sadly I find, 90% of those that qualify for MEDICARE, select their plan based on the wrong reason.
Those turning 65 are very often still healthy.
To select the plan that fits them, they need to consider, how they want their plan to work in the event thru have a bad health issue develop.
My stress of For California has over
97 plans.
Their is a reason.
Again, if they have sn adverse health condition, my place is to simplify their selection based on how they want to be medically cared for.

I love the relationships. These aren’t just clients to me. They become friends, family, people who trust me with something that really matters. And I don’t take that lightly.
I love knowing I’m making a real difference in my community. It’s not about pushing policies. It’s about protecting people, caring for families, and making sure folks feel seen, heard, and taken care of.
And I love the challenge. Medicare is always changing, and that keeps me sharp. It pushes me to grow, to keep learning, and to lead my team the right way.
This isn’t just a job. This is my purpose.

One of my most memorable moments was when I assisted a client overwhelmed by their Medicare plan's complexities.
After patiently guiding them through their choices, they expressed immense gratitude for the clarity and support I provided.
Knowing that I can make a significant difference in someone’s life—especially for those who may feel lost in the system—is what I love most about this role.

One of the main reasons I love being a Medicare agent is that I get to help people during some of the most stressful and vulnerable times in their lives. Every day, I meet people who are not only navigating complex healthcare decisions but are also concerned about how to afford the care they need. As a Medicare agent, I get to offer clarity and reassurance, guiding clients toward coverage options that fit their unique circumstances. I help them decide w/o regrets because I educate them, so they can make an informed decision.
With approximately 10,000 Americans turning 65 every day, the demand for Medicare guidance continues to grow steadily, ensuring a robust client base and job stability well into the future. This steady influx of new clients, coupled with the ability to build long-lasting relationships as people live longer, allows me to help more people while also growing my business. The role offers flexibility, independence, and a chance to become a trusted advisor in my community. As I grow my team, I will train them just like me, to take an educational approach. I’m also a second-generation medicare agent of 43 years —a combination that makes being a Medicare agent both a stable career choice and a personally meaningful vocation.

I especially enjoy the challenging cases — when someone feels stuck, overwhelmed, or told “there’s no good option.” That’s where I thrive: digging deep, asking the right questions, and finding solutions others miss.
More than anything, I like knowing I’ve brought peace of mind. Medicare can feel like a maze, but my clients know they have a guide who’ll walk with them, not just hand them a map and disappear.

Take for instance dental implants. Most Medicare Advantage plans include dental coverage, but don't cover implants. With that knowledge, I may suggest a Medicare Advantage plan that includes a Part B giveback, and then take that giveback and buy a dental plan that helps cover those implants. Then when they get those implants done, we can cancel the dental policy and move them to a different Medicare Advantage plan if they would like. It's so important to have seniors on the best coverage for themselves each year. And each year can change.

Step 4: Picking an insurance company.
