I really enjoy helping seniors navigate Medicare, as it can be quite confusing. Not only do I help my clients with applying for Medicare, but I also take pride in getting them into the plan that best suits their needs, regardless whether it is an Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement plan.

Knowing my clients enables me to determine if they qualify for any additional benefits through the state. I am also proficient at helping my clients solve issues that may arise, as I have access to solutions outside of their plan.

My clients are part of my extended family!

Knowing I have been of great service to someone, helping them to make the best decision for their health moving forward, is very rewarding internally. So many think they know what is best - a decision that came from their assumptions, falsely fed information by neighbors, or incomplete advertising. Well, they do until you share with them some knowledge that confirms or presents a different thinking that demonstrates they would have chosen incorrectly for themselves. Many do not put enough emphasis on NO UNDERWRITING, and how the wrong decision could change their life in an instant if they chose the wrong plan.

"Making Medicare Simple"!

Sadly I find, 90% of those that qualify for MEDICARE, select their plan based on the wrong reason.

Those turning 65 are very often still healthy.

To select the plan that fits them, they need to consider, how they want their plan to work in the event thru have a bad health issue develop.

My stress of For California has over

97 plans.

Their is a reason.

Again, if they have sn adverse health condition, my place is to simplify their selection based on how they want to be medically cared for.

I really enjoy talking through everything with my clients. Not just about Medicare, but a retirement picture as a whole in regards to what their health needs are, dental needs, life insurance, cancer, heart attack, stroke etc. to really make sure they have the tailored coverage they need. Knowing what someones needs are, greatly affects the Medicare decisions they make. So it isn't just as simple as signing them up for Medicare.

Take for instance dental implants. Most Medicare Advantage plans include dental coverage, but don't cover implants. With that knowledge, I may suggest a Medicare Advantage plan that includes a Part B giveback, and then take that giveback and buy a dental plan that helps cover those implants. Then when they get those implants done, we can cancel the dental policy and move them to a different Medicare Advantage plan if they would like. It's so important to have seniors on the best coverage for themselves each year. And each year can change.

We often think of our major “job description” as “problem solvers.” Most individuals are not clear on what their options are when it comes to Medicare because of the many plans and paths available to them. So when we have the opportunity to really examine what our client’s real situation and needs are, we are able to assist them to find the plan that most appropriately suits them. Whether that would be a Medicare Supplement Plan with/without a Prescription Drug Plan or a Medicare Advantage Plan or, perhaps, a Special Needs Plan. Helping seniors is really a personal thing for me. My mom lived in NJ and with me living in AZ, I was not able to be there on a consistent basis to help her out. She use to always tell me how people at the grocery store helped her, or how the people at the pharmacy delivered her medicine. She even told me that when she took out the trash, the young men in the neighborhood would stop her and take the trash from her so she wouldn't have to walk down the steps and possibly slip and fall. This is why I do what I do, I feel that it is my duty to pay it forward.

My main reason for liking being a Medicare agent is, I was on Medicare, and if I can help someone on it that needs more benefits than what they currently have, that is a bonus to everyone, but I do not like anyone being told that they will get a $3000 food card if they are not eligible for it. I left a previous company because I was expected to tell people I could get them benefits that would be worth more than the $3000 food card, but I wouldn't deceive a person, so I left the company rather than lie.

The most enjoyable thing about being in the Medicare advisory industry is being a helper. When I meet with beneficiaries my goal, every time, is to treat them the same way I treat my grandparents. Honesty, building relationships, and transparency are the 3 major factors for me when meeting with beneficiaries. I do not want to make a sale; I want to create a relationship and build trust. I have open communication with all of my members, some don't call or text me as much as others, but it is very important to me that every person that I help enroll in any Medicare product knows that I am available to them as often as needed, which has been extremely beneficial in my 7-year career.

Getting seniors off on the right foot when it comes to making the best decision, as they search to find the plan that suits their coverage needs at a budgetable price. It's also critical for Medicare eligibles to fully understand the pitfalls of Medicare Part C or Medicare Advantage, particularly, if that's their initial choice. So many people aren't aware of basic protections that have time limits -- such as guaranteed issue for Medicare supplement policies. You can't be turned down! Trial rights are another, you have options you can take advantage of to get a secure policy in your life -- for life. These are protections they worked hard to achieve and I love giving them the information needed to make a great decision.

I find that I'm able to sit down with people and either help them get started with Medicare when they are turning 65 or at the annual open enrollment period to review their current plan and plan options.

Having an office for folks to visit while we talk seems to put them at ease knowing we are an established agency and not just an agent trying to get their business. Having been working in the insurance industry for over 20 years I am more interested in helping them and not what my commission will be.
