Answer: You would qualify for Medicare if you were on disability for 24 consecutive months. At that point, yes you would qualify.

Could Medicare ever adopt a tiered premium system based on lifestyle factors?

Answer: it’s definitely an idea whether or not it’s something center for Medicare services woukd adopt is hard to say. That would definitely be something to suggest to your local congressman.

Why did I receive a Medicare Summary Notice, and what should I do with it?

So I heard something about Medicare drug costs being capped at $2,000 in 2025. Is that really happening or just talk?

Answer: Yes, that is a correct statement. I believe it’s $2100 starting in 2026. And yes, it began in 2025. They’ve removed the donut hole. Happy to answer any other questions. Feel free to reach out.

Can I keep seeing my current doctors if I switch to a Medicare Advantage plan, or do I have to find new ones?

Answer: As long as your provider is in network with the plan that you select. If you choose a PPO Medicare advantage plan then you can see providers outside of the network, but you may pay more per doctor visit.
