If you have a carrier that enters you into a group plan, then not only are you subject to the group rates being increased regularly, annually, or at the carrier’s discretion, but also if it is deemed there are too many claims into that particular group, they could drop the plan.
Look for a Supplemental carrier that offers a Guaranteed Renewable Premium with an Individual policy.

There have been Medigap carrier become insolvent and pull out of the market, however, you are protected in this situation. If this happened to you, you would have guaranteed issue rights to get another plan with no underwriting. The guaranteed issue plan is a Plan G or Plan F depending on when you became eligible for Medicare.

With explanation medigaps are guaranteed renewable which means as long as you pay your premiums and and was honest on your application you cannot be canceled.
So unless the insurer goes belly up your medigap cannot be cancelled.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Guaranteed Renewability:
Medigap policies are designed to be renewable, meaning the insurer cannot cancel your policy simply because your health has declined.
This protection is in place as long as you continue to pay your premiums.
Reasons for Cancellation:
Non-payment of premiums:
.
If you fail to pay your monthly premiums, the insurer can cancel your policy.
False information on application:
.
Providing inaccurate or misleading information during the application process can also lead to cancellation.
Insurers going out of business:
.
If your insurance company becomes bankrupt or insolvent, your policy may be terminated.
Important Considerations:
Switching to Medicare Advantage:
.
If you decide to switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan, you may lose your guaranteed issue rights for Medigap policies.
State regulations:
.
Some states have additional regulations regarding Medigap policies, so it's wise to check with your state's insurance department for specific rules.

1. Non-payment of premium.
2. You move out of the area and would need to enroll in a plan that is offered in your new state.
3. The insurer files for bankruptcy.
