“Everyone has a plan that you don’t! Act Now!”
Ads for Medicare plans are not exactly subtle about the wording they use to try and get you to pick up the phone. Maybe they don’t say those exact words but the goal of every phone call and email and text message you get from marketing companies is the same: create the “fear of missing out”. In some cases, it could be true. You could have a plan that is not as competitive as it used to be. However, it causes people to get emotional about their insurance choices and then they may make a bad choice because they did not take the time to thoroughly research options and make sure that the new plan will work well for them.
This year, it seems seniors are very fed up with the ads and phone calls. They are just done being “sold” no matter how good the options are. My clients are giving me the feedback of Medicare fatigue. They simply want their phone to stop ringing so they don’t have to talk about Medicare anymore. Who could blame them? From surprise bills to confusing coverage rules, there are plenty of legitimate frustrations seniors face with Medicare.
If you want to look at all the choices, or you know that a change is going to be necessary but you want to avoid fatigue and emotional decision making, the following is my recommendations for making a good choice.

What advice would you give to seniors who are feeling overwhelmed by all the Medicare options available?
What you know, like if your doctors take the plan or what your prescription drugs are gonna look like with the plan, that's gonna make all the difference in the world and reduce your anxiety. What you're truly afraid of is the unknown.
So finding somebody that you can know, like, and trust to handle your Medicare is really the best-case scenario. I hope this helps.
A local medicare agent does not cost you anything
This is a bit of a self-serving statement but Medicare Advisors can be invaluable to guide you. In particular a broker that can look at multiple carriers to choose from.
How can I select the right healthcare company and representative to work with?
LOCAL is the way to go when it comes to choosing a representative to work with. There really is no better way to establish trust or ask the hard questions than looking someone in the eye and reading what their local neighbors have to say about them on google and other social media resources.Establish what benefit is MOST important to you
Is it the lowest cost on prescriptions? Do you need good dental benefits because you need a lot of dental work this year? Sometimes this can help filter your choices.
Don’t make a decision based on hyperbole
Separate facts from opinions: for example, let’s say your neighbor tells you that you should NEVER look at advantage plans and that they are all bad. Does she have a specific example? Or is it just something someone told her? Have an open mind and form your own opinion too!
My kids keep telling me to get a Medicare Advantage plan, but my friends say stick with Original Medicare. Who should I listen to?
I think you need to research your choices for yourself and go with what feels right for YOUR needs. Just like everything else, people will always have an opinion but you will be the one who lives with the coverage so it should be your choice ultimatelyMake sure your doctors and prescriptions are covered
The plan can be the best benefits you’ve ever heard of, but if you are going to have trouble using it, then you are likely to experience buyer’s remorse.
Can I keep seeing my current doctors if I switch to a Medicare Advantage plan, or do I have to find new ones?
It depends on whether or not your doctors are in the network with the advantage plan you are considering. Contact your local agent to look those up for you.Medicare doesn’t have to be exhausting. Bring in an expert who can carefully help you research and hang up on the telemarketers! There is plenty of information to make a well-informed decision at your own pace. If I can be of any assistance to you, do not hesitate to call or text me.
