Hi, thanks for watching. My name is Steve, and I'm the husband half of the husband and wife Medicare team here in Arizona. Sue is off today.
So, the question we have is: what advice would you give seniors who are feeling overwhelmed by all the Medicare options available? My advice is, yeah, there's a lot of options. And my advice that I always give people is to find an independent Medicare broker who lives locally. Somebody out of state isn’t going to help you as much as someone local who can give you good advice and that you feel like you have a connection with. It's no different than looking for someone to do your taxes or some other part of your life where you have to relatively trust someone.
Talk to them, get their advice, and they can direct you to the right plan based on your situation. There's a lot of options out there. There are options for people with chronic illnesses, others that have low copays for certain things, and maybe a lot of dental benefits. It really depends on your situation and what is important to you.

Ignore the T.V. commercials. Ignore the social media ads. Don't talk to anyone that calls you about Medicare if you haven't requested the call.

It kind of comes down to this: you're gonna have to find somebody that you trust. I would look at people's Google reviews or ask their trusted family member or friend what kind of agent they might recommend. Having somebody to kind of narrow down the choices and give you feedback on experiences they've had with the plan is really important.
What you know, like if your doctors take the plan or what your prescription drugs are gonna look like with the plan, that's gonna make all the difference in the world and reduce your anxiety. What you're truly afraid of is the unknown.
So finding somebody that you can know, like, and trust to handle your Medicare is really the best-case scenario. I hope this helps.

Voss Speros here, Greek god of Medicare. Got a question, and the question is, what advice do you give seniors who are completely overwhelmed with all the Medicare choices?
So I get it. There are a lot of choices depending on where you live. Like in a populated area like Arizona, Maricopa County, there are hundreds of plans and options. In a rural area, say Lake Havasu, there's only a couple. So there's not a lot to work with, but you know, popular areas have a lot of cities, so there's hundreds of choices.
And then there's supplement supplements, and there are different carriers that offer supplements. Then there's prescription drug plans. You've got to go through all that. I would say, hey, let's slow this down and listen and go through it.
So who are your doctors? Break that down, and your drugs, break that down. These are the most important things. What's your lifestyle? What's your budget? Do you need glasses? You know, hearing aids? Can I go through a little bit of a needs assessment and see what they need?
Because then, as a broker, we can plug it into our system and pull up plans that fit that need, which narrows it way down. So I would say, hey, let's sit down with a broker. As always, sit down with a broker and narrow things down to fit your specific need.
There's lots of options, but not all of them fit your specific need. So I just say slow it down. Hope that helps. Give us a call if you need some help on that, and we'll slow it down and whittle it down to something specific for you. Hope you have a good day!

Medicare agents hub, where your questions get answers. What advice would you give to seniors who are feeling overwhelmed by all the Medicare options available? Wow, I can't imagine why. All those commercials, all those 800 numbers, all of those celebrities telling you what you should have? That's a great question. What you should do is work with someone like myself here at my State Farm Agency on Kelly Street in Manchester, who can go over all of the pros and cons of Medicare, including original Medicare parts A and B, a Medicare supplement which will supplement parts A and B, or a Medicare Advantage that you see all the commercials for. I have no preconceived notions of what you need or what you should buy or what I need to sell. I go strictly off your goals and objectives. I give you great information so that you can make great decisions for you and your family. Medicare agents hub has a ton of professionals here. Get to any one of them that can help you. That's the first place to start, and start six months prior to your 65th birthday so that you can get all of this done in a timely fashion. I'd be glad to help.

Hi, I'm Medicare Misty with Medicare Minutes. One of the questions I usually get is, what advice would you give to seniors who are feeling overwhelmed by the Medicare options available? I totally understand, because in some states, there are 40, 50 different, 72, I think 72 options just in one state. So I can see how it can be overwhelming. I've talked to a couple of people and asked, why didn't you reach out? Some are so overwhelmed they don't want to reach out, or they don't want to be sold. So I would ask for a referral from your friends, your parents, your neighbor, or anyone who has used somebody locally where they felt like they were educated, not really being sold to. I would love to be the one that you choose if that's the case, if you're looking for someone to educate you on the plan. Now, we all want to make a sale, because that's how we get paid. But we want to make sure we're making a sale once you understand the product that you choose. One thing good about me is I am a broker. So I do all the plans, and I don't have to say one's my favorite. I just put your medication in, your doctors, and it helps me figure out which is the best plan based on your doctors and your medication. Then I see what kind of benefits you want in with your plan. So reach out if you're interested.

Know your Medicare timeframes and when you can choose your plans.
Do not wait until the last minute as it can add to the stress of feeling overwhelmed.
Medicare.gov has a lot of free resources and 1-800-Medicare can answer general questions about Medicare.
State Health Insurance Programs or SHIP is a free resource that is available in every state. This gives people an opportunity to ask questions to help navigate the complexities of Medicare and they provide insurance counseling.
Consider whether or not your preferred doctors, specialists, and medical facilities will accept your plan. Identify which plans will minimize your out-of-pocket expenses for prescriptions with the pharmacy of your choice. Evaluate your situation carefully to consider not just premiums, but copays, coinsurance, and deductibles. You want to evaluate your total out-of-pocket expenses when you consider your options.
Find an Independent Agent or Broker you can partner with whom you can trust and can be an advocate for you. Independent Agents or Brokers can simplify the process, and can identify what makes sense for your particular situation. Also, Independent agents use resources that will help identify what makes sense financially, and tend to keep informed of changes within the industry.

Independent brokers are not beholden to any specific insurance provider and can help you find the right plan to meet your needs and budget.
When shopping for a health plan remember that its exactly that a health plan. The goal should be at the very least to have comparable coverage to what you had during your working years.
If there are extra perks with the plan like gym memberships or groceries thats great but the focus should be on selecting the right health coverage for you.
An independent agent can review the summary of benefits, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance and verify that your doctors and prescriptions are covered by plan you select.

As a licensed Medicare agent, my job is to:
- Explain your options in plain, simple language
- Compare plans based on your doctors and prescriptions
- Help you avoid costly penalties
- Make sure you’re not overpaying for coverage you don’t need
- Review your plan every year to ensure it still fits
There’s no one-size-fits-all Medicare plan. What works for your neighbor may not be right for you. I take the time to understand your health needs, budget, and preferences so I can help you choose with confidence.
Best of all, my consultations are no cost and no obligation.
You’ve worked hard your whole life. Your Medicare coverage should give you a sense of security and worry free, not stress.

Ask your friends, relatives and neighbors about their comfort zone (does the agent return your phone calls/emails in an expeditious manner?) with their agents and your hesitation should disappear. During the 3 agents' interview process, is she/he looking directly at you when they answer your questions? Does the referred agent have the years of experience necessary in covering some of the more quirky parts of Medicare? Are the companies she/he represents among the largest in the country? Google those companies and check as to how well they are rated in YOUR STATE! Don't forget that you may be surprised that the largest insurance firm in the US may not necessarily be among the highest rated. This should be enough ammunition.

Plans are insured or covered by a Medicare Advantage (HMO, PPO and PFFS) organization with a Medicare contract and/or a Medicare-approved Part D sponsor. Enrollment in the plan depends on the plan’s contract renewal with Medicare. We do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information we provide is limited to those plans we do offer in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE to get information on all of your options.

You have a choice to make. Which option will best help you cover what Medicare doesn't? That involves choosing between a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) with a stand-alone Prescription Drug Plan or a Medicare Advantage (Part C) plan. There could also be penalties you are not aware of.
I understand the unique concerns you face. It can be tough to find trustworthy information. I am here to provide the clarity and direction you need to move into this next stage of your life with confidence and ease.
I recommend that clients sit down with a professional who knows how to assist them. I don't recommend working with someone over the phone. Find someone local who has good reviews and let them assist you.

Hey y'all, it's Brianna, your favorite life and health insurance agent and owner of BE REAL Insurance. I'm bringing you real solutions as you get ready to turn 65. First of all, that's a huge milestone. But there are also a lot of important decisions that start coming your way, one of those being Medicare.
One thing I always tell my clients who are turning 65 is not to wait until the last minute. Start your Medicare conversation early so that you can understand all of your options and avoid any late enrollment penalties. Every situation is going to be different, and whether you are still working, have retiree coverage, or if you're on your spouse's insurance, what works for someone else may not work for you.
My job is to make Medicare simple and to make you feel confident about what you choose. If you're turning 65 soon, we should chat. I'd be happy to walk you through all of your options and make sure everything's set up smoothly.
All right y'all, until next time, keep it real!

What advice would you give to seniors who are feeling overwhelmed by all the Medicare options available? There's thousands of options out there, 50 different insurance companies trying to get you to sign up for their plans. It can be very overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be. My advice is to find someone local that represents all the plans and can be completely unbiased and not try to persuade you toward one option or the other. I help my clients every single day shop for the plans that are best for them and not in my best interest. So make sure that you work with someone that you can trust. That's going to show you all your options and help you navigate through it, and not just sign you up and sell you an insurance plan.

The second thing you should do is study and learn the options of coverage that are available. There are 2 main categories, and you only have the unlimited option to get anything you want when you first start on Medicare. You have to study and understand the options so you can make an informed decision. A good broker can help you do this, but you can also read CMS publications and watch YouTube videos. Medicare is going to be your healthcare for the rest of your life so it's imperative you make proper decisions. Fidelity Investments estimates that it will take someone $165,000 in after tax dollars to pay for healthcare in retirement.
In short, find a professional. Second, spend time making the right choices.
Good luck and happy retirement.

Medicare advantage, only do these if you cannot afford a supplement plan. Pick the plan with the best network for your dr's, and lowest max out of pocket annually. Do not fall for all the freebies, they raise the max out of pocket costs, and when you get really sick you will pay a lot more money.

One of the most helpful things you can do is talk with an independent Medicare agent who represents multiple insurance companies. They can break everything down in plain English, compare your options side-by-side, and help you understand what fits your situation — not just what one company is trying to sell. It takes a lot of the stress out of the process and makes sure you don’t overlook something important like drug costs, networks, or enrollment deadlines.
The bottom line: you don’t have to become a Medicare expert. Just get someone trustworthy in your corner who can guide you through it.

Anyone selling Medicare products (except Supplements) must complete a required annual certification based on compliance rules set by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and certification training from each insurance carrier they want to represent.

So, the first thing I would say is to attend a Medicare educational event to learn some of the basics. That will give them a better idea of the possibilities.
The next step is to choose a health / Medicare broker to be their broker. Just like many people have a doctor, accountant, and pet groomer that they can depend on, every senior should have a Medicare broker that they work with year after year.
The broker can help them to understand the options overall, of course... but more importantly, the broker can help the person get clear on what's most important to them and find a plan that fits that; they can also help seniors navigate financial challenges too, directing them to programs and resources that they may qualify for.
So, if you're a senior or the adult child/caregiver or a senior and are feeling overwhelmed, just ask a broker (like me). It's the path of least resistance to get help... and it's free!
