Some Medicare Advantage("MA") plans have a limited amount of dental coverage. Speak to a licensed and trained Medicare Insurance Agent to help you find the best plan for your needs.

One of the unique things that set Medicare Advantage plans apart from Medicare Supplements is that they usually offer additional benefits beyond what Original Medicare provides. These additional benefits generally do include dental coverage.

Not all dental benefits are created equal when it comes to Medicare Advantage plans. When shopping for a plan be sure you understand how the dental benefit works and what it covers. You should also review the dental network and confirm if you can use the benefit at a dentist office who is not in-network.

A knowledgeable local independent agent will be able to help answer these questions and many more to make sure you are enrolling in the plan that best fits your needs.

Yes most Medicare advantage plans do have some sort of dental coverage. As always, check the plans available in your county first.

Yes. Most Medicare Advantage plans include some level of dental coverage, while Original Medicare generally does not cover routine dental care. In recent years, about 98% of Medicare Advantage plans have offered dental benefits, but the amount and type of coverage vary significantly by plan and location.

Common dental benefits may include:

* Routine exams

* Teeth cleanings

* Dental X-rays

* Fillings

* Extractions

* Crowns

* Root canals

* Dentures

* Sometimes implants (depending on the specific plan)

However, there are important limitations:

* Annual maximum benefit amounts often apply.

* Many plans require you to use network dentists.

* Major services may have copays or coinsurance.

* Benefits can change from year to year.

When speaking with Medicare beneficiaries, I would explain it this way:

“Many Medicare Advantage plans do offer dental coverage, but not all dental benefits are the same. One plan may only cover cleanings and exams, while another may also help pay for crowns, dentures, root canals, or even implants. That’s why it’s important to review the specific plan’s dental benefits rather than assuming all Medicare Advantage plans provide the same coverage.”

As an independent Medicare agent, this is also a good opportunity to remind clients that dental coverage should be just one factor in choosing a plan. Their doctors, hospitals, prescriptions, copays, and maximum out-of-pocket costs are often even more important considerations than the dental benefit alone.

We take the extra step to go through a thorough needs analysis to make sure we’re addressing all of your needs, including Dental vision, hearing, doctors, medications, hospitals, and essential needs to give you the clarity and transparency. Most of the advantage plans do cover dental and vision at this point. The benefits differ based on each company and even what plan within the company. If you have specific higher needs in one thing or another, call a local Medicare professional who can help you find the right plan for you!

Simple answer... no, not all Medicare Advantage plans offer dental coverage and coverage for those that do can vary greatly. While many MAPD plans include preventative dental services, coverage for comprehensive services may be limited or not included. Working with a licensed agent can help you make sure that you get the dental coverage that you prefer in your MAPD plan.

Many Medicare Advantage plans do include dental coverage, but the benefits can vary quite a bit from one plan to another. Some plans cover preventive services like cleanings and exams, while others may also help pay for fillings, crowns, dentures, or even implants. That's why it's important to look beyond just having dental coverage and understand exactly what's included.

Yes they do. Some plans have more coverage than others. The majority of Advantage plans have basic coverage. I have an Advantage plan and purchased a Delta Dental plan because I need major work done. The dentist can use both coverages.

Most, but not all, Medicare Advantage Plans offer dental coverage. When you are signing up for a plan make sure to ask if dental coverage is included and ask for the coverage amount. This will be available to you in the plan's Summary of Benefits.

Keep in mind that since Advantage Plans are run by private companies, the dental benefits will not be the same. Some may have different coverage dollar amounts. Some plans may offer preventative services like two cleanings per year, x-rays, orl exams and flouride treatments. Others may offer additional coverage through a dental rider. This means that for an additional fee you can purchase more coverage for dental work.
