Q&A with LeAnn Pedersen
Answer:
•Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) does not cover stair lifts because Medicare classifies them as a home modification, not as durable medical equipment (DME).
•Some Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans may offer limited benefits for home safety modifications or mobility-related needs, but coverage varies by plan and is not common. You would need to check your specific plan.
•In Minnesota, people who qualify for Medicaid/Medical Assistance may have other options through certain waiver or support programs, depending on their eligibility and circumstances.

Answer: Yes they do. Some plans have more coverage than others. The majority of Advantage plans have basic coverage. I have an Advantage plan and purchased a Delta Dental plan because I need major work done. The dentist can use both coverages.
Answer: There is a difference between a Medicare Agent and a Medicare Broker. The Agent is not licensed with many health carriers like a Broker is. You will get more carrier options with a Broker. Some believe Advantage plans are the way to go and others ssy the Supplements are the way to go. They ate both good but the bottom line is if you can afford to buy a Supplement a separate prescription drug plan, and separate dental this is the way to go many people can't afford a supplement plans that's why there are Advantage plans out there.
Answer: An HMO plan has a very limited network of doctors it is much smaller than PPO and EPO network and you cannot go out of network or you will be paying the full cost. It is less expensive than a PPO plan so if you can be sure to stay in your network you will be ok.
Answer: Yes, all agents selling Medicare plans must first read a mandatory script to the customer and send a scope of appointment form to be signed before we can help a client. Agents also have to wait 48 hours AFTER receiving the scope of appointment form back before we can reach out to the customer to obtain information in order to send them Medicare quotes. This is to protect the customer so that an agent is not going to try to cross sell meaning trying to sell you another product i.e. Life Insurance, Annuities, that they offer besides the Medicare plan or RX plan. Note: This is mandatory to protect the customer
