Original Medicare usually won't pay for medical alert systems like Life Alert. They're not considered medically necessary equipment under the program. That said, some Medicare Advantage plans include extra benefits like this, and a local broker can help you see what options you actually have nearby.

Medicare does not, however, some Medicare Advantage plans offer a Personal Emergency Response button at no cost. You will need to call the company to request they send yours.

Some Medicare advantage plan carriers do cover Life alert and or medical alert system systems. Specific plants within the carrier do carry those systems and others do not.

This is why it's important to speak with a qualified agent to get the answers you need.

Original Medicare Parts A and B typically do not cover Life Alert or medical alert systems. However, some Medicare Advantage plans may include this benefit as part of their coverage. I also work with several companies that offer medical alert systems at an additional cost, helping you find an option that fits your needs and budget.

Medicare generally does not cover non-medically necessary items. There may be Medicare Advantage plans that could help pay for medical alert systems.

Some Medicare Advantage plans (Part C) do cover medical alart systems like Life Alert. Traditional Medicare does not (Parts A+B) as they do not deem it "medically necessary".
