Does Medicare offer life insurance, or is that a separate product I need to buy?

Social security does have a one-time $255 death benefit, but best to connect with them for the details... It's not through Medicare.

There are many life insurance products out there on the market. It depends on what type of life insurance you’re looking to buy.

Life Insurance is a separate policy .
Medicare is strictly a health insurance program. It is designed to cover your medical costs (like hospital stays, doctor visits, and medications) while you are living; it does not provide any death benefits or coverage for final expenses (such as funeral or burial costs) for your family after you pass away.
