Stacey Portugal, Medicare Insurance Agent
About Me
I began my Medicare career over 10 years ago, helping my husband with his Medicare insurance business. As I became more involved in assisting clients and understanding the complexities of Medicare, I decided to become a licensed insurance agent to provide an even greater level of support.
Today, as an independent agent with Main Line Benefits, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate Medicare with confidence. I spend much of my time educating clients about their Medicare options, answering questions and assisting with ongoing customer service needs to ensure they get the most value from their coverage.
My passion for Medicare and planning for the future grew from my personal experience helping my own parents manage their insurance and financial needs as they aged. Through that journey, I saw firsthand how important planning can be - and how a lack of planning can impact the people you love most. That experience drives my commitment to helping clients make informed decisions and create a plan that supports their health, financial well-being and peace of mind. I look forward to serving you. -Stacey

Stacey has been a tremendous help to me in completing my enrollment in Medicare, providing thorough and comprehensive information and guidance in completing the necessary steps to ensure that I am properly enrolled in the best and most appropriate coverages. She made a complex process very clear and easy, and gave me confidence that I’m obtaining the best coverage possible for my situation. Without any reservation, I recommend having her help you with this process, to make sure you get the best coverage available on the first try.

Q&A with Stacey Portugal
Are there any guidelines I should follow when filling out my Medicare application?
Answer: This is a vague question but my answer to this would be to fill out the application carefully (read every question) and, if you're applying for part b be sure to check the box on the application when asked if you want Part B). Also, if you're looking for a different effective date than the upcoming first of the month, you can make a note of this in the notes (by saying something like: please give me a 3/1/26 effective date).
I've heard that once you're on Medicare, you might not need life insurance as much. Is that true?
Answer: No, this is not true. There is no life insurance included with a Medicare policy.
Life Insurance for a senior can be a valuable tool for your loved ones to avoiding a financial burden. There are many examples of this; one being if a loved one needs to help out with your expenses they can be repaid upon your death. Also, life insurance can be useful as a legacy for your loved ones.
