Can a Medicare broker help us find a plan that includes broader chiropractic coverage?
Answered by 31 licensed agents
Hi, thanks for watching. We are the husband and wife Medicare team. I'm Steve, and I'm Sue. The question for today is, can a Medicare broker help us find a plan that includes broader chiropractic coverage? Long story short, yes, we can. Different carrier plans offer different types of coverage. Some will be limited to how many visits you can have, while others might be unlimited. But they may have a higher cost to it. We help to work that out with you.

A broker can compare plans in your area, explain what’s actually covered, and check if your preferred chiropractor is in-network. They’ll also help you understand things like visit limits, copays, and whether you need prior approval.
Just keep in mind: coverage varies by plan and location, so not all options will include enhanced chiropractic benefits — but a good broker can guide you through what’s available.

A couple things to consider when evaluating Medicare Advantage plans for chiropractic services: 1) it’s essential to consider key factors such as coverage options—looking for plans that include not just spinal manipulation but also additional therapies—alongside costs like copayments and coinsurance to find the most affordable options; 2) additionally, ensure the plan has a wide network of chiropractors, and look for any additional benefits, like wellness programs, that can enhance your care.
Finally, researching customer satisfaction ratings and reviews can provide insights into various plans, and a broker can help you check for annual limits on visits or treatments covered.
Given all the above considerations, yes, you should definitely work with a local broker to help you find a plan that has broader chiropractic coverage tailored to your needs.

What Original Medicare Covers
Chiropractic: Only manual adjustment of the spine if it’s medically necessary to correct a subluxation.
Nothing else — no exams, no X-rays, no maintenance, no wellness visits.
Where Brokers Can Help
Medicare Advantage plans (Part C): Many carriers add extra chiropractic visits, sometimes unlimited, sometimes capped (e.g., 12–24 visits per year).
Some plans also package chiropractic with acupuncture, massage therapy, or physical therapy as part of a broader wellness benefit.
Brokers can compare side-by-side what each plan in your county offers.
Why It Matters
Coverage for chiropractic beyond the narrow Medicare standard varies wildly by carrier and county.
A broker has access to all those plan details and can pinpoint which ones give you broader chiropractic coverage (without you having to read 200 pages of Evidence of Coverage).

Original Medicare (Parts A & B) only pays for chiropractic for medically necessary stuff, usually just a handful of visits.
But if you need a lot of adjustments or stuff beyond basic spinal work, plans might fall short.
