Doreen Dann RN, BSN, MHA, Medicare Insurance Agent
About Me
I became an insurance agent in 2018 after having served as a clinical RN as well as an Executive within multiple acute care hospitals from rural to university settings, for-profit and not-for- profit settings. When I retired, I encountered significant difficulties enrolling in Social Security for my survivorship benefits as well as choosing the right health plan. My children were already working adults outside the home and so I decided to learn the law so I might assist other seniors in their transition to retirement and helping them choose their best health plans options. Becoming licensed as an insurance agent along with having a significant clinical background, has been a wonderful new experience for me. Although I live in Southern CA, I am licensed in multiple states.
Please allow me the privilege to compare your Health plan options and costs with no obligation. I look forward to hearing from you.
Q&A with Doreen Dann RN, BSN, MHA
What's the most important question I should be asking about Medicare that I probably haven't thought of yet?
Answer: If researching a Medicare Supplement plan, ask to review the rate plan to see what the rates are for ages 77 plus. Its important to know the year they become a standardized rate by age. This is where many age rated plans become competitive for the enrollee.
Why are people unhappy with Medicare Advantage plans?
Answer: Not all people are unhappy with Medicare Advantage plans but if they are, usually it is because of the required authorization process or having to stay within a closed network if they chose a MAPD-HMO rather than a MAPD-PPO plan if available.
