Do I need to do anything for Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)?
Answer: Yes. I always encourage clients to review their plan to ensure that it still meets their needs. If that is not the case, then explore other options that may better meet your needs and change accordingly. You may also seek assistance from licensed brokers for assistance.
Can a Medicare broker help us find a plan that includes broader chiropractic coverage?
Answer: Brokers can help you find appropriate doctors within your network based on the current medical conditions and referrals from your primary care physician. Thy can help determine the level of coverage and/or cost share based on individual plans and providers.
I've been on my employer's health plan but am retiring soon. What should I consider when moving to Medicare?
Answer: I would review and understand any employee retirement coverage that may be available. Also take the appropriate steps to register for Medicare past A and for part B as necessary. Research your Medicare plans (Supplement or Advantage) to determine which may be best for your individual situation and the timeline (based on your age) to sign-up. If initial age 65 sign-up you have seven (7) months in which to enroll (three (3) months before your birthday, the month of your birthday and three (3) months after your birthday).
Are there disadvantages to working with a Medicare broker/agent?
Answer: Some disadvantages may be focus on some products based on commission, limited plan selection, oversell or misrepresent plans. Limited knowledge of some plans.
What happens if I am unable to provide creditable coverage?
Answer: If you lose creditable coverage there is normally a special enrollment period to enroll in Part D without penalty.
If you don’t have creditable coverage and delay enrollment in Part D you may face a late enrollment penalty.
Who will make medical decisions as to what is necessary to me: my Doctor or the insurance company?
Answer: The doctor makes medical decisions. We try to work with insurance providers up from to ensure you have the best coverage with in network doctors as needed based on your medical circumstances.
When is the best time of the year to start looking at Medicare options?
Answer: It depends on our circumstances. If you are approaching 65 you have 3 months before your birthday, your birthday month, and 3 months after your birthday (7 months) to review and enroll. If you are already enrolled the reenrollment period is Oct 15 - Dec 7. Depending on other circumstances there may be special enrollment windows. At any time you can discuss with an agent.

Answer: Genuinely working with clients to assist them in understanding Medicare and getting them connected with the best plan for their personal situation.
Tell me about a time you had to fight through the appeals process to secure coverage for a client—what was on the line and how did it resolve?
Answer: I haven’t had that experience. However I would verify all information with client and exhaust all measures to resolve issue as best as possible reflecting client personal needs.
I try to understand needs of client upfront and check and recheck all information for accuracy.
