Voss Speros here, Greek god of Medicare. Medicare for all Greeks. You're in luck, I'm Greek.
So the question is, what happens to my Medigap plan if I move to another state? Medigap is a Medicare supplement, Plan G or Plan F depending on how old you are.
When you move to another state, your supplement plan generally goes with you. Now, if it's not in that state, that company's not in that state, you might have to change it. Also, what does happen is you buy the plan in this state over here, you move over to this state over there, and the plan rates are different per state. So you might have to pay adjusted rates in the new state. It might go up, it might go down, you never know.
Generally speaking, your supplemental plan is good anywhere in the country, so you're good. You move states, you're fine. You don't have to double check to see what the rates are going to be, and just make sure on that one.
What you will have to do on your part D plan though, you will have to change that because that's county by county. So if you move states, you're moving a bunch of counties over, so you're going to have to change your Part D plan. Make sure you do that. You don't want to get dropped from that and then get hit with a penalty later.
Do you have any questions? Let us know. Be more than happy to help you out.
