Original Medicare = Traditional, standardized, very little holistic coverage.
Medicare Advantage = Same medical basics plus optional wellness/holistic perks (depends on the plan).

Part A handles inpatient hospital, skilled nursing, some home health, and hospice care;
Part B covers doctor visits, outpatient care, lab tests, durable medical equipment, and preventive screenings. It does NOT include coverage for dental, vision, hearing, or other kinds of care. Coverage for dental, vision, and hearing is limited to services tied to other covered conditions, for example, eye surgery for cataracts or tooth removal during jaw surgery, but not routine cleanings, glasses, or hearing aids. It also doesn't cover prescription drugs (you'd add a separate
Part D plan) and has no annual out-of-pocket cap
Part C: Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurers and must cover everything Original Medicare does, but they routinely bundle in extras. These may include vision, hearing, dental, and fitness benefits, often with a fitness program like Silver Sneakers, plus prescription drug coverage built in.
If you mean complementary/alternative therapies (acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, naturopathy, expanded nutrition support), some Medicare Advantage plans do offer these as supplemental wellness benefits, but it varies enormously plan to plan and there's no guarantee, and not standardized.

Medicare Advantage plans, on the other hand, may offer extra wellness benefits like acupuncture, expanded chiropractic, fitness programs, or other holistic options. These added benefits depend on the specific plan, so it’s important to compare what’s available in your zip code.

Medicare Advantage plans may offer some holistic benefits, but it varies widely by plan and is never guaranteed. These extras can change every year, may require prior authorization, and often come with limits.
So the honest answer is: it depends — but in most cases, holistic care is not covered under either option.
