If I leave the hospital against medical advice, will Medicare still pay the bill?

However, you may still be responsible for deductibles, coinsurance, and any services not covered, just like any other hospital stay. It’s always a good idea to speak with hospital staff before leaving to understand any potential risks or costs.

Voss Speros here, Greek god of Medicare. If Medicare's all Greek to you, you're in luck, I'm Greek.
So the question I got today is: if I leave the hospital against their wishes, will Medicare still pay for it?
Yes, generally Medicare will pay for you being there, because you go there for a reason. You go to the emergency room, you get checked into the hospital, and if you feel you're okay, I guess you could check yourself out. But Medicare will pay for the days you're in there. Depending on your plan, your plan will pay for the days you're in there. If you have Advantage and they want to keep you longer, you have co-payments for the first 3 to 5 days, and then it's fully covered after that.
So really it's up to you. Medicare will cover it if you decide to leave against their recommendation. If you have any questions, let us know. We'll be more than happy to answer, fill out a form, and send out a broker to help you out.

As it normally would. You would still have your deductible and co pays.
The long answer is a little more difficult if you have Medicare Advantage it may affect utilization review they may trigger some things within the advantage company to make decisions on their care.
