Q&A with Edward Cavelli

What benefits are there to working with a Medicare Agent near me vs remote/virtual?

Answer: You get a personal experience with someone who truly cares about you, you are not just a phone number and name.

I follow up with you every year to make sure you are set up and safe from unnecessary copays in the following year.

How do you educate clients who are completely new to Medicare?

Answer: I show a side by side worksheet comparing Medigap and Advantage so they can make their own decisions

What is the biggest disadvantage of Medicare Advantage?

Answer: Cost shares, pay as you go can sometimes become an ongoing pain.

Advantage is good while you are healthy and not utilizing may services.

How does life insurance contribute to financial planning?

Answer: This is a Peace of Mind tool for yourself and family.

Life insurance is a premium paid service to allow a financial company to pay expenses, debt and/or provide income support to a surviving spouse and children.

I’m on a supplemental Plan N, and I’m curious if my recent MRI is covered or if I’ll get stuck with a big bill.

Answer: Medicare members on a Plan N supplement only have copays for doctors visits ($20) and ER visits ($50 (if not admitted). All plan N clients also have the Part B deductible if $257 (2025) they are responsible for.

Thus they will not receive a bill for the MRI

If a senior is turning 65 but still working, should they enroll in Medicare or delay it?

Answer: This is a case by case analysis and is hard to answer without more information.

Does the senior have coverage through work? If so, what is the coverage like? How much is the coverage costing monthly to keep?

These are all questions needed answered to determine the best decision.

What is the biggest mistake seniors make when enrolling in Medicare?

Answer: Chasing the “Shiny things” and not focusing on the coverage itself. Medicare is insurance meant to cover out of pocket costs, the rest are bonus items to make members lives more comfortable.

Does Medicare cover eye exams, or are seniors left paying too much?

Answer: Medicare itself does not cover eye exams. However Medicare advantage plans or Part C often does cover eye exams.

Supplements, original Medicare and Medigap can have standalone Vision, dental and hearing policies added at an additional cost if needed.

Do I have to answer health questions when switching from one Supplemental/Medigap plan to another?

Answer: If there is not a guarantee issue election to be used then health questions must be answered to qualify for a new Supplement/ Medigap plan.

What do you enjoy most about working with Medicare clients?

Answer: Getting to know and learn things from my clients.

I truly care and hope to work for many years with my clients.

I really enjoy education the people I speak with and empowering them with things I know so they can make educated decisions now and in the future.
