What do you like most about being a Medicare agent?
Answer: Being licensed as a Medicare Agent, gives me the opportunity to make positive experiences for clients who can benefit from a caring professional that has time and experience to share when health insurance seems a bit complicated. Helping clients understand the benefits and choices that best serve their health coverage needs, is my main focus. I want clients to consider me their advocate and someone who is on their side.
I'm turning 65 next month; what are the first steps I should take regarding Medicare enrollment?
Answer: Consider your drug coverage and prescription needs. Where is your provider located and do you want an in Network Provider or will you require the ability to access provider services of your choice. The out of pocket costs will vary depending on your choice. Will you use coverage for chronic illness? Are lab services required frequently? We will select the best available option for your personal health care needs.
Will I be penalized if I do not enroll in Medicare when I turn 65?
Answer: There can be exceptions to this rule. If you have coverage from an employer, you may be exempt from penalties. A special enrollment period could apply to your personal situation and we can discuss circumstances that affect any potential penalties.
I am on disability insurance Medicare now I will be 65 in October do I have to to sign up for Medicare again?
Answer: No, you will automatically be enrolled in Parts A and B when you turn 65. You can make changes in your coverage if you choose.
Is paying for a high-end Medicare Supplement plan really worth it, or is it overkill?
Answer: The coverage you choose should be based upon the amount of health care services that you require. Prescription drug coverage should be included in your decision making process.
How can I verify if a Medicare Advantage plan's advertised benefits are legit?
Answer: There are regulatory requirements that inforce strict compliance in Medicare and the Insurance Industry. The Centers of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) regulate and insure compliance. Congress has a department called Medicare Payment Advisory Committee that keeps reports and makes recommendations to Congress involving Medicare payments. These Departments offer information are available to anyone who wants to learn more about Medicare or other Health Insurance programs.
What's a red flag in a phone call that it might be a Medicare scam targeting my personal info?
Answer: If a caller insists that you change your current coverage. offers you free services or rewards for your coverage changes, as well as threats to cancel your coverage for any reason, these are signals that your potentially targeted by a Scammer. Beware of callers requiring you to order a new Card. This is a way criminals try to get your personal information for Identity Theft.
