What benefits are there to working with a Medicare Agent near me vs remote/virtual?

Answer: Working with a local Medicare Agent provides personalized service, ongoing service and agents have expertise and familiarity with plans in your area. Plan options are recommended based on your needs. Consultations are provided at no cost or obligation, and appointments are usually face to face. Local agents build relationships, educate, assist and respond to a beneficiary's needs throughout the entire process.

How do you educate clients who are completely new to Medicare?

Answer: New to Medicare clients are educated with a Medicare 101 discussion which includes explanation of all the parts of Medicare. Part A, Part B, Part D and Part C (Medicare Advantage Plans) and Medicare Supplement Plans.

Each Part of Medicare is explained regarding the costs, what is covered and how it works.

Other topics would include the timeframe for signing up for Medicare, The income-related monthly adjustment amount (IRMAA). The Medicare Savings Program guidelines and Part D Extra Help Program.

What if I missed my window to sign up?

Answer: If you delayed enrolling in Medicare Part B at age 65 due to having employer coverage (still working) you can sign up if you are terminating your employer plan. This will give you a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). Your employer will be required to complete form CMS-L564 which you will submit with your application.

If you missed the window to sign up, you could enroll during the General Enrollment Period which runs from January 1 - March 31 of each year.
