Rose Mullins, Medicare Insurance Agent
About Me
I am an Independent Agent with Heartland Health Insurance Advisors, located in Kendallville & Ft Wayne In. I'm proud to bring decades of industry familiarity rooted in a strong family legacy. I grew up around Ivancic Insurance, the agency founded by my parents more than 40 years ago, where I began assisting in my early twenties by preparing asset summaries and learning the fundamentals of the business.
In 2001, I earned my insurance license and joined the family office, continuing a tradition of personalized, client-focused service. Over the years, Ive witnessed significant changes in the industry, including early adoption of Medicare Advantage plans in the Fort Wayne area and the transition to prescription drug coverage, helping clients navigate each stage with clarity and confidence.
I remain committed to the core values instilled by my family—treating clients like family, providing honest guidance, and ensuring individuals feel secure in their coverage decisions. I take pride in being a dependable resource for those seeking trusted insurance advice. We have multi - generations within our company.
Being an Independent Agent allows me the opportunity to sit down and get to know you and your needs, to be able to offer you what fits for YOU.
Q&A with Rose Mullins
What do you like most about being a Medicare agent?
Answer: What I enjoy most as an independent agent is knowing that I am helping people. It is really easy to get lost in all of the information and communications that come your way. Many do not realize all of the benefits they have and never use them. That is like throwing money away. Or you could be overpaying for what you really need. Others do not know they may qualify for added benefits. I help find those added benefits for you.
I love knowing that I am helping people to make educated decisions on all information and that I am able to help take away the stress of Medicare. I tell my clients that an added benefit of going thru me for your insurance needs is that you get ME as your agent. I take the stress and worry out of the equation for you.
Do retired federal employees need to enroll in Medicare if they already have FEHB coverage?
Answer: FEHB coverage refers to Federal Employees Health Benefits coverage. Typically, Medicare is optional. BUT there are exceptions to this. I would recommend getting together and going over all of your options before deciding to add or not to add Medicare Health benefits.
Does Medicare now require a doctor or PA evaluation for shoulder surgery, and what is the timeframe?
Answer: Original Medicare does not typically require Prior Authorization, but Medicare Advantage plans frequently do require an evaluation from an authorized physician stating it is medically necessary.
When you are told that a PA is required, the insurance company is saying that you will need Prior Authorization.
What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?
Answer: Working with a licensed Medicare agent can ensure you are receiving and utilizing all of the benefits you are entitled to. I will sit down, ask questions, get to know you and your needs better. Because I am an independent agent, you will receive unbiased comparisons for what truly meets your needs. I will explain the difference between Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Supplements.
You also will get me, Rose as your personal agent. I will go to bat for you and get to the root of the problem, should one occur. Not just during AEP, but year around.
Your monthly premium remains the same whether you use an agent or choose on your own. You do not pay any extra having me as your agent. I have to stay up to date on all matters and test yearly to be able to be your agent.
Let me know when you are ready to talk and how I can help you!
