Q&A with Brandy Lee
Can I get SilverSneakers with Original Medicare?
Answer: No, unfortunately, Silversneakers is not included with Original Medicare. Most Advantage plans have covered gym memberships. Some Supplements will cover them.
I'm on Medicare Part B, and I'm wondering how my physical therapy visits are covered. Do I have to hit my deductible first?
Answer: Yes, Medicare Part B requires you to meet your annual deductible first before it starts paying for outpatient physical therapy. You will have to pay 100% of the Medicare-approved amount for your physical therapy services until you hit the $283 annual deductible amount. Once you meet your deductible Original Medicare pays 80% of the approved cost, and you pay the remaining 20% coinsurance. Advantage plans can pick up the deductible and a supplement can pick up the 20% coinsurance.
What's the most frustrating misconception you have to clear up with clients about Medicare every year?
Answer: The most frustrating misconception about Medicare is the Part B premiums, and the deductibles and coinsurances beneficiaries are responsible for. Then…these costs can increase each year.
What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?
Answer: A medicare agent educates beneficiaries on Original Medicare, and plan options based on healthcare needs, doctors and prescriptions. Agents also offer year round assistance with benefits, claims, and answering your question’s.
Can my Medicare Advantage plan offer extra coverage for breast cancer services?
