Aaron Young, Medicare Insurance Agent

About Me

Medicare can be confusing. I help make it simple. As an independent agent, I represent all types of Medicare plans and most companies that offer them. I can help you shop for the plan that best fits your needs.

I enjoy helping people with all types of Medicare, whether it be a supplement, prescription drug plan, or a Medicare Advantage plan. I can help you sign up for dental, vision and hearing benefits, and see if you are eligible to receive assistance paying for your prescriptions and Medicare Part B premium. I can even help you determine whether you are eligible for Medicaid.

One of my biggest passions is helping people find ways to be able to afford the medicine and healthcare they need. Millions of seniors go without the medication they need because they are unaware of the help that is available. I educate Seniors about the Prescription Drug Extra Help Program that helps cover the cost of prescription drugs and save them hundreds and even thousands of dollars. I have helped many people enroll in this program, and they no longer need to choose between taking their medicine and buying groceries.

When most people are given a prescription, they have no idea how much that medicine will cost until they get to the pharmacy. That is when the surprise comes. I teach people how to know what their medicine will cost before they ever leave the doctor's office. If they cannot afford it, they can talk with their doctor about alternatives at that time. My mission in life is making a positive difference in the life of every person I meet.

Q&A with Aaron Young

What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?

Answer: Medicare can be very confusing for most people and mistakes can be made. It is always best to work with a seasoned professional insurance agent who can help you navigate the confusing maze of Medicare. Also, we don't charge you the client anything for our consulting services and are paid by the insurance carriers.

Are Medicare Advantage plans really "free," or is that just clever marketing?

Answer: Many Medicare Advantage plans have a zero dollar monthly premium, and then some have small monthly premiums. However, they are not totally free. They do have copays and coinsurance when you use the plans but also protect the client with an annual maximum out of pocket.

My pharmacist mentioned the Medicare "donut hole" is going away in 2025. What does that actually mean for me?

Answer: What this means is that you will likely spend less on your medications than you have in past years. For 2025 and beyond, the prescription drug plans will have a max out of pocket of $2000.

How does getting married late in life affect my Medicare coverage or costs?

Answer: Getting married late in life will have no impact on your Medicare coverage or costs. All Medicare plans are individual plans and whether you are married or single, the costs are the same.

If I have been on disabilty due to an accident, do I qualify for Medicare Insurance?

Answer: You qualify for Medicare benefits after you have been receiving Social Security Disablity compensation for a 24 month period, regardless of your age. Our youngest client on Medicare is only 22 years old.

If I need long-term care in the future, how does Medicare fit into that plan, and what should I be doing now to prepare?

Answer: If you think you might need long term care in the future and don't have a long term care policy in force now, you will have to pay for that care out of your own pocket. Medicare pays for some short term care such as skilled nursing and rehabilitation, but will not pay for long term nursing home care.
