Q&A with Rebekah Grimm

If you had to pick just one, what's the worst Medicare-related decision someone can make?

Answer: I think the worst Medicare related decision someone can make is picking a plan because your friend or relative has it and says it’s great. Everybody’s situation is different and what works for them may not necessarily work for you.

I'm turning 65 next month and the amount of Medicare mail I'm getting is overwhelming. How do I sort through all this?

Answer: Get with a reputable agent, maybe someone you know can recommend a local agent. Or contact your local SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance) office.

How long after I apply for Medicare A&B will I receive my Medicare card?

Answer: You should receive your Medicare card within 30 days once your application is approved. If it has been more than 30 days and your application was approved, you should contact Social Security and inquire about it.

What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?

Answer: Medicare agents strive to know all of the ins and outs of Medicare. It's in an agents best interest to help you find the plan that is most beneficial to you.
