Q&A with Jessica Danos
I live in California but might move to another state next year. How will my Medicare coverage change if I relocate?
Answer: So what will happen is when you move that puts you into an SEP (Special Enrollment Period). You will have roughly 60 days to change your plan from the date you notify Social Security of your address change. If you're on a supplement and want to stay on a supplement the premiums may change and the plan may not be available in the new area. Check with the plan you have now. You will also need to enroll into another stand alone drug plan. If you're on an Advantage Plan then you will need to pick a new plan. You're also able to switch from a supplement to an Advantage Plan or vice versa. I hope this helps!

What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?
Answer: A Medicare agent knows how Medicare works and can simplify it for you. By having an agent explain how it works in simplified terms you are able to make a more informed decision. Independent agents are usually contracted with most of the companies and can help you compare all the plan options to see what best fits your needs. Most agents have tools to easily look up your doctors and medications, so you don't have to. If any problems pop up like billing, claims, or plan changes - you have someone in your corner.
