Q&A with Jennifer Osborne

What do you like most about being a Medicare agent?

Answer: I enjoy meeting new seniors, getting to know them personally, and helping them understand how Medicare works.

How can I make sure I'm not overpaying for my Medicare plan, and are there any tools or resources you recommend?

Answer: I always recommend reviewing your current plan during AEP, as plans change premiums, deductibles, copays, formularies, networks, and benefits. For KY, I encourage utilizing the birthday rule for Medicare supplements.

I live in a rural area with limited specialists and am interested in telehealth options. How does Medicare cover virtual visits for someone in my location?

Answer: Virtual visits are covered by many plans, but it is still necessary to review plans in your area to ensure your plan has telehealth benefits for your providers.

I have severe rheumatoid arthritis and my biologic medication costs $6,000 per month. How will the 2025 Medicare Part D changes affect someone in my situation?

Answer: As long as your prescription plan covers the medication, your annual maximum prescription cost will be $2,000. But, if your plan does not cover the formulary, it does not apply toward that maximum, so best to review your current plan for formulary coverage.
