I signed up for a Medicare Advantage HMO, and I'm wondering if I can see a cardiologist out of network without paying everything myself.

Answer: Unfortunately, not if you have a Medicare advantage HMO you have to use in network doctors and get referrals most likely from your primary care physician although there are Medicare advantage plans that are PPO‘s preferred provider organizations which allow you to go in and out of network at a higher cost. If you use the out of network, you should ask your agent if if there is a special election that you can use to change your plan if that’s what you’re looking to do
