Are Medicare Advantage plans really "free," or is that just clever marketing?
Answer: They are paid for by your Medicare part B premium, which you have to pay anyway. So no additional cost to you.
I'm still working at 67, and I don't know if I need Part B. Why is something so basic so hard to figure out?
Answer: You do not need part B until you lose your employer's health plan. No need to incur the part B premium until necessary.
What is the main benefit of Medicare Part D?
Answer: Prescription medicine coverage. Medicare requires that you have this coverage and Advantage plans usually provide it at no additional cost.
I'm considering genetic testing to assess my cancer risk based on family history. Will Medicare cover this preventive approach in my situation?
Answer: Yes Medicare typically will cover it. All sorts of preventive services are covered with no co-payment.

Answer: Review your coverage with your agent to make certain the treatment is covered and specialists in network if an HMO.
Don't you think Medicare's focus on treatment rather than prevention is backwards?
Answer: The Focus needs to be on both. A good PCP will teach preventative as well as treatment.
