Q&A with Christopher Stowers

What do you like most about being a Medicare agent?

Answer: What I enjoy most about being a Medicare agent is the opportunity to simplify a complex system and give people clarity during a critical time in their lives. It’s incredibly rewarding to help clients feel confident and cared for as they make important healthcare decisions.

Are Medicare Advantage plans really "free," or is that just clever marketing?

Answer: Medicare Advantage plans often have $0 premiums, but they’re not truly “free”—you still have to pay your Part B premium and may have out-of-pocket costs for services. It’s important to look beyond the marketing and understand the plan’s copays, deductibles, and network limitations.

Does Medicare cover Ozempic and other drugs prescribed for weight loss?

Answer: Medicare does not cover Ozempic or other medications when prescribed solely for weight loss. However, if these drugs are prescribed for approved medical conditions like Type 2 diabetes, they may be covered under Medicare Part D.
