Answer: The largest difference between a MA HMO and a PPO is the network. An HMO requires you to stay within the plans network. Whereas, a PPO affords you a potential opportunity to go out of network if needed. Secondly, a HMO, can require a referral, versus, a PPO may not need one.

Should I keep original Medicare or go with an Part C, Medicare Advantage plan? What is better?

Answer: It's definitely not a matter of what's better. It's a matter of what your needs are. Original Medicare works great, however, depending on your needs, you may want to look into a Medicare supplement to go with your original Medicare. And those work differently than a Part C, Medicare advantage plan will. Again, it's all about your needs and what fits and works best for you and you healthcare.
