My wife and I recently attended a Medicare educational seminar that Tom put on, Tom was very organized and explained things well. We plan to utilize Tom's services in a few months when we begin enrolling in Medicare.

Q&A with Tom Rogala

Answer: To get started, fill out my pre-meeting Medicare survey.

Next, book a meeting on my website for help applying for medicare 80%,

picking a plan 20%, and reviewing your plan every annual enrollment period.

Answer: With HMO plans you have a primary care physician and need referrals to specialist in network. PPO plans let you see doctors and hospitals in network or out without a primary care or referral

Answer: Complete my survey including drug list and dosge. I can shop all drug plans by total cost

(premium, deductible and copays)

Answer: Change from medicare advantage to Medigap. You will pay a monthly premium but never get a bill. You can keep the plan forever and have peace of mind knowing your exact cost upfront

Answer: Medicare Addvantage Prescription Drug PPO plans are typically $0 premium monthly. When you use it you pay a small copay. The only big copay is cancer and you can get a cancer rider for about $11 per month

Answer: Part A & B cover 80% of dr and hospital only. Most, pick a medigap or advantage plan to cover the other 20% and prescription drugs

Answer: You only have one shot a guaranteed issue into medigap. If you want to move from advantage to gap down the road you have to answer health questions

Answer: No. You need a long term care policy. The younger and healthier you are the cheaper it will be. Some go with advantage over medigap and use the saving to fund LTC.

Answer: You do not have to answer health questions during your initial enrollment (turning age 65 or loss of group coverage over age 65) If you ever want to switch from addvantage to a supplement you have to be healthy

Answer: You can can change to a Medicare advantage plan during Annual Enrollment. The premium is $0 but you will have copays and a book or doctors.

Answer: Your plan changes every year. That is why you need to make sure and have your agent quote even if your plan is currently working for you.

Answer: Medgap supplement plans do not have a book of doctors. Any Doctor or Hospital that takes medicare 80% has to take medigap supplement 20%.
