Answer: I understand. Medicare could be confusing.

If you are still working and your company is paying your health care, keep going.

Once you plan to retire, 3 months before, go to www.ssa.gov and apply for Part B to take effect.

Then you decide to stay with Medicare and get a Plan G supplement and a drug plan, or choose a company based on your doctors and meds.

Answer: Primarily, the answer is YES.

Covers chemotherapy given when you’re admitted as an inpatient in a hospital.

This includes IV chemo as part of your hospital stay.

Covers IV chemotherapy (and other medically necessary cancer drugs) when given in an outpatient setting — for example, in a doctor’s office, clinic, or hospital outpatient department.

After you meet the Part B deductible, $283 in 2026, Medicare typically pays about 80% of the approved amount, and you’re responsible for the remaining 20% coinsurance unless you have a Medicare Supplement Plan.

Lastly, Part D Medicare is complicated to predict.

Answer: You need a Medicare Prescription Drug plan to calculate your medication costs.

Regular Medicare Part A and Part B do not cover medications.

Answer: Yes, there would be a copay for your eye surgery.

It varies depending on your Medicare Advantage Plan.

I don't expect it to be too much, possibly less than $200, just for the surgery co-pay.

Good luck

Answer: Welcome to Florida

Answer: Yes absolutely 💯.

Make sure that you work with a broker that is licensed with all the companies and please shop 🙏 every year during open enrollment because plans make lots of changes so you will pay the least out of pocket for all your prescriptions.

Answer: Your Hospital stay would be covered, but you will have a deductible to meet.

After meeting the $1,676 deductible, your costs for an inpatient hospital stay are as follows:

Days 1–60: $0 (covered in full by Medicare)

Days 61–90: $419 per day

Days 91–150: $838 per day (using your 60 lifetime reserve days)

After day 150: You pay all costs

Note: You have a total of 60 lifetime reserve days that can be used once over your lifetime for extended hospital stays beyond 90 days.

Therefore, if you are not working, it's in your best interest to get a Medicare Advantage plan run by an insurance company or a Medicare Supplement Plan where you control where you go.

Answer: No, you may not use your Medicare Card if you have chosen a Medicare Advantage plan.

You are with a particular company with your healthcare plan, as you are no longer on Medicare.

Medicare pays your healthcare plan to take care of you.

Answer: Good for you!

Maintaining good health will provide you with numerous lifetime benefits.

A preventive annual exam is best to do to create a baseline for your future.

Answer: Medicare has a lot on its plate.

The burdens of providing multiple languages are shocking to me.

The funding of Medicare needs to be protected.

Rene Apack

Answer: Have you applied for your Medicare Part B as soon as you decided to switch to Medicare?

Many people wait until the last moment, and Medicare does not work instantly. Some individuals may not have coverage for a month or two until Medicare assigns a Medicare ID number.

Apply for Medicare ASAP when you know you're eligible.

Rene Apack

Answer: No, you are not eligible because you have not completed 40 quarters, which is equivalent to 10 years of paying into Medicare.

If you continue to work and complete 10 years of paying into Medicare, you will be eligible for Medicare.

You may purchase a different policy to provide you with some medical insurance.

Answer: The biggest mistake seniors make when choosing a Medicare Part D plan is that they go by company names that they know instead of analyzing the whole marketplace, AND finding a PLAN THAT WILL ASK FOR THE LEAST AMOUNT OUT OF THEIR POCKET.

Answer: Definitely, a Medicare decision that many people later regret is not to review either their Prescription Drug Plan or their Medicare Advantage plan. They find that once they enter a new year, their costs of medications are too high, or their doctor is no longer accepting their plan.

Answer: That's a perfect question. Many people have Medicare Advantage, and they love it.

If you do not want to incur yearly maximum out-of-pocket costs, you may choose to stay with Medicare and opt for a supplement.

Does that help?

Answer: Shop every year during Medicare Open Enrollement between October 15th and December 7th.

I offer a free consultation with no obligation.

Answer: Your doctor knows the answer to that question.

Medicare will only pay if it is MEDICALLY NECESSARY.

There are preventive screenings that your doctor may order during your annual physical, and they would be free.

Answer: Please STOP with the Media rhetoric.

Medicare is not going anywhere, ever. It's YOUR money that you paid into.

Relax, shop your plans yearly, and live worry-free by shopping with me.

Answer: I am very sorry that you kept the same Part D plan because you most likely overpaid out of pocket money that you did not have to.

Out-of-pocket costs change every year for all kinds of reasons.

It's in your best interest to shop your Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, Plan G, between October 15th and December 7th.

Answer: The short answer to the question is the one that no one likes. " I depends."

It depends on the Medicare plan that you currently own.

On the Medicare Advantage plan side, some plans have a deductible, but mainly, they have a copay that you and the insurance company pay.

Again, on the Medicare Supplement side, it depends on your own Medicare Supplement plan. Plan F has no deductible, whereas Plan G has an annual deductible of $257 for 2025, which is amortized over several doctor's visits, lab work, etc.

Answer: This question is over my head, and it has no bearing on today's volatile over-65 healthcare endured by our citizens.

I regularly see how people waste their hard-earned money by not shopping for their Medicare prescription drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans. They sit in regret until the next enrollment period.

Best wishes,

Rene Apack

Answer: Medicare Advantage plans are paid from our deposits into Medicare during our working years. So, to be clear, all Medicare Advantage companies are paid from our money.

Each carrier may change its plans every year to attract and reduce the number of clients it has in the different plans. Some plans leave the marketplace, and insurance companies create new ones.

In order to attract clients, Medicare Advantage companies include dental, hearing, vision, and over-the-counter benefits, but some even back money toward the Medicare Part B premium (tax) that the policyholder pays every month.

Answer: I love Medicare questions and providing precise layman's terms so that all my clients are protected with the best available coverage.

I keep in touch with my clients every year regarding Medicare Prescription Drug Plans and Medicare Advantage Health Plans to ensure they are enrolled in the best plan with the lowest out-of-pocket costs. Regularly shopping for insurance keeps my clients in the best financial shape and provides them with a worry-free life.
