Kayla Price, Medicare Insurance Agent

About Me

I grew up watching family members struggle to understand their insurance options — paying too much for coverage they didn't need or missing benefits they were entitled to. When I entered the insurance industry, I made a promise to myself: I'd be the agent I wished my family had.

I founded Price Services Group as an independent agency because independence matters. I don't have quotas. I don't have a carrier telling me which plan to sell. My job is to understand your situation — your doctors, your prescriptions, your budget — and find the plan that fits.

Based in Wilmington, NC, I serve clients across North Carolina and in nine other states. Whether you're turning 65, retiring, or just tired of a plan that no longer works for you, I'm here to help you navigate your options clearly and without pressure.

Q&A with Kayla Price

Will my prescription drugs be covered under any plan I choose?

Answer: Typically, drug coverage is plan dependent. Some plans cover the generic drug while others cover the brand name drug. This is why it is important to work with a licensed independent agent. There is not an extra cost to work with us.

I'm hesitant to share personal or financial information with an insurance agent. Is my information safe with you?

Answer: Yes. For my agency, we take safety of personal and financial information seriously. We use a client relationship management system that is HIPAA compliant. We do not disclose your information that has been entrusted to us.

My income is limited. Are there programs that can help pay my Medicare premiums?

Answer: Yes, you have options. You have qualify for Medicaid, depending on your income and resources. The applications can be completed in person, online or by phone depending on your local Department of Social Services.

What is the donut hole, and does it still exist?

Answer: Good news, the donut hole no longer exists as of 2025. It happened when there was a gap in Medicare prescription drug coverage where you would have paid a high percentage of drug costs until reaching the catastrophic phase. That would mean paying up to $8,000 in 2024. More good news, the most a person would pay is $2,100 for 2026.

Is help available in Spanish when choosing or using my Medicare plan?

Answer: You do have the option of receiving assistance in Spanish. Insurance companies are required to have language options available to members and potential members. There are also independent agents who can speak multiple languages.

Did you know you can receive money back each month from your part B premium?

Answer: If you have a Medicare Advantage plan called a giveback, you can receive some money back in the form of an increase in your social security check. This is the insurance company paying part of your Part B premium to Social Security on your behalf. This can also happen if you are receiving assistance through the Medicaid program and/or Medicare Savings Program.

Are there churches or community organizations in my area that help with Medicare questions?

Answer: Normally, it is best to speak with a licensed independent insurance agent so that you can determine what options are available to you and what is going to work for your situation. Independent agents are about to show you multiple options across insurance companies.

I've heard Medicare Advantage plans have hidden costs. How do I know what I'm really getting?

Answer: With Medicare Advantage plans, I typically refer to them as pay as you go. So, as you receive services, there may be copays, coinsurance, and deductibles. They can add up fast if you are receiving a lot of care. It is important to have a comparison of your options.

Are new Medicare cards being issued for 2026?

Answer: Some Medicare Beneficiaries are receiving new red, white and blue Original Medicare cards due to security concerns. This is not across the board. As far as insurance cards from the insurance companies go, you do usually receive new ones each year.

What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?

Answer: Licensed insurance agents who focus on Medicare are required to complete annual Medicare training from organizations like NABIP, AHIP and others. Plus, we must also complete insurance carrier based training every year.
