Q&A with Julie Joyce
Answer: My favorite thing is that everyone is different, no 2 people are the same. Every person has a different story and different needs. A new puzzle everytime!
Answer: My parents! My dad was overpaying and has a lot of medications, my mom has zero meds. They were very overwhelmed we had to find a good fit for my dad and his meds along with he had doctors in 2 very different networks. I ended up saving them over $600 a month!
Answer: Skilled nursing, which I can offer help for with an additional Indemnity product! Medicare Advantage plans only give you the first 20 days at a low copay in a skilled nursing facility, you need an additional policy for days 21 and on
Answer: Medicare works in the United States. If it is an emergency, they will treat you but we do suggest travel insurance if you will be outside of the US border.
Answer: You will automatically be enrolled in Medicare! Which means you dont have to sign up through Social Security (really cuts down on your wait time).
Answer: That it is free. Part B does have a monthly premium, which is based on a two year look back on your income.
Answer: Trying to navigate this alone. Always reach out to a broker to go over all of your options. You could be overpaying or the opposite not having the right coverage for your needs.
Answer: Faster turn around times! With Social Security having a website, really makes the process not as stressful.
Answer: Good time for a review! Every year the plans change and your needs and life will probably change once you retire.
Answer: A good broker would be able to easily let you know how and what your Advantage plan covers. Or you can always call Member Services on the back of your insurance card and they will be able to let you know.
Answer: I dont think one is better than the other. They both do the same thing but work very differently. Its all about finding which one is better for your particular needs and lifestyle.
Answer: Simple answer is nothing! Although I do suggest signing up for Part A and just delaying Part B, that way you are in the system and when Part B does need to be activated you have a fast turn around time!
Answer: FREEDOM of network! You can take it anywhere in the US that accepts Medicare. It will work in another state the same way it works in your home town.
Answer: Network, network, network. PPO will give you the availability to use out of network doctors and hospitals.
Answer: Once your Part B deductible is met, there should be no charge for the MRI. On a Plan N you should only see a bill for your PCP and at the emergency room.
Answer: Medicare Part B covers outpatient services. It works on 80/20% coinsurance, so NO it is not enough. Plus there is no limit on what you can be charged. You need a plan to come in and cover that 20%
Answer: Annual Enrollment is Oct. 15th - Dec 7th is always a good time. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan you can also make a change from Jan. 1st - March 31st. There are also a good amount of Special Enrollments (life changing events)
Answer: Normally that just comes from listening to a family member or friend saying they have the best plan. Everyone should have the best plan for them! Everyone is different and needs their insurance to work for them.
