John Siipola, Medicare Insurance Agent

About Me

When I retired several years ago, the Medicare health insurance options with Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage Plans, and Part D Drug coverage were complex and easily mis-understood. After I retired from corporate America, I heard all the sales pitches from various insurance companies. With a couple of college degrees and years of corporate experience I was bewildered by the insurance company sales techniques not to mention the 2500 or so insurance plans available. I’ve always been a quick study, so I took the required insurance courses and passed the licensing exams. After reviewing several hundred health insurance plans I felt knowledgeable to make the decision for my own Medicare plan. Then, I assisted my family members and a few friends. I live in Daphne and work as a self-employed health insurance consultant. I am an enrolled health insurance agent licensed in Alabama, Arizona, and Wisconsin. States where I have known people and have received referrals.
All seniors are eligible to enroll with guaranteed issue, regardless of pre-existing conditions, in Medicare three (3) months before they turn 65 and three (3) months after. Enrollment in Part A is automatic through Social Security and premium-free for most people. Enrollment in Medicare Part B is optional and requires a monthly premium, which is usually deducted from your Social Security check. After your 65th birthday, you have the opportunity to review your coverage and make changes each year between October 15th and December 7th (the Annual Election Period).
