Q&A with Jay Carlton

Answer: This action will not affect your Medicare or your coverage, Medicare is a federally funded program that you worked 40 credit hours and paid into. Medicare Part A and Part B remains intact. You will have to continue paying you Part B premiums.

Answer: Medicare in it self does not, however Part B if a doctor orders to treat for a specific medical condition like hearing and balance exams, it will cover the 80%

Answer: There are a few ways to look at them, one is talking with your agent and having them going over them with you. You can also go over to the Medicare website and plug them all in to see what plans and what costs they will be. Each plan will have a Teir level them them and the cost of what the copay or coinsurance will be for you.

Answer: Having the knowledge and ability to teach and help people that do not understand how medicare works and what it does along with all the parts of Medicare.

Answer: I start by talking about what Medicare is, as well as all the parts to it. Part A, Part B, what is Part C and Part D. What is the deductibles and coinsurances and/or copays are that come with Medicare. Answer any questions that they may have as well.

Answer: Not getting all your answers answered. Also not making sure you have signed up for at least a Part D plan. Not understanding what Medicare is and/or does, can cost you a lot over time.

Answer: One of the best ways to check on this is to go in to Medicare dot gov and you can look under the tab Providers & Services, you can do a search there. Also if you are on a plan C, you can call your plan carrier to help answer your question.

Answer: Great question! If you are still working and have credible insurance coverage (employer coverage), you will be able to defer Part B and have Part A coverage. Call to talk with social security, or call your local insurance agent for help. If you are retired and taking ssi you will receive medicare in the mail automatically or should have received it. You also can log in to ssa.gov website and fill out the information to sign up for Medicare Part A and Part B.

Answer: You will have a charge of the Part B deductible first which as of 2025 will be $257 and then 20% of the charge of the ambulance company charge in your area (state/city) you live.

Answer: This is not allowed and against CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services) rules, you can report the agent and the company for this act. With that said, there are plans that have built in amounts for groceries and over the counter items. Check with your local agent.

Answer: Medicare's Part B allows for you to do telehealth with both a Primary Care and a Specialist. They are covered in the same way as if you wast to go in person.

Answer: While still working and have group insurance, you can defer Part B. Make sure to talk with an agent or Medicare and ask questions.
