What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?

In our ever-changing world, insurance is one of the most challenging. When I became an agent many years ago, products were limited and much simpler. The brighter side, though, is that now there are numerous options, including more safeguards, which greatly protect the consumer.

Working with any professional, a high level of trust and knowledge is key to the relationship. Medicare agents are required to recertify every year with every insurance carrier and pass the Mastery Exam with a 90% or better. This requires diligence and focus. Yes, it is work, but it places Medicare agents in a position of higher learning and more accountability.

Another interesting point I always like to share is that the carriers add new benefits to the plans and remove others EVERY year. Yes, they send you a book that is sometimes impossible to comprehend, with all the acronyms and lingo. It only references THEIR product with no side-by-side comparison to other options for you to consider.

Our health changes, so we should always consider options.

By the way, the TV commercials will lead you to believe there are freebies for you to get you to an agent so they can sell you something. Somebody's got to pay for those!
