Q&A with Holt Rushing
Answer: There is no donut hole this year. There are plans that have a deductible, which may be part of what's causing it. The only other option would be a higher priced drug plan that has no deductible on it.
Answer: I love truly being able to help people. I was a teacher and coach before this, and my passion was trying to make a difference. I feel that I truly get to make a difference in the world being a Medicare agent by doing the right thing.
Answer: They have the Open Enrollment rule out there with no underwriting. Most people start researching and looking months before they get on Medicare. The underwriting phase isn't super strenuous. I would be happy to take a cool and see for you.
Answer: Part B has an 80/20 coinsurance. This means that they cover 80% and you cover 20% of whatever the bill is. If you have a Medicare Supplement it helps cover that 20%, and if you have Medicare Advantage it helps cover it as well, but you would have a small copay.
Answer: It is not. Part A has a $1676 deductible, then you have to pay for hospitalization each day. That doesn't cover the medical portion and what the doctors do.
Answer: There are Special Enrollment Periods that can be used based on your location. I would be happy to look into that for you and help where I can.
Answer: Not making sure they are on the plan that's best suited for their needs. They need someone that can compare different avenues of Medicare and help them make the right choice. They also miss enrollment dates by not signing up soon enough.
Answer: How do I know which route is best for my situation. What's the difference in copays vs deductibles? Will the plan cover me if I go out of the country?
Answer: It looks like someone didn't read the full summary of benefits. They could've just been trying to put you on a plan, or possibly you only wanted one with the most dental allowance. If you went through an agent they should've told you, and you should have been clear on your expectations.
Answer: Tell them that the cost of the plan is zero, but you still have copays. Tell them it takes care of the part A deductible, and 20% of part B, but it comes in forms of copays. Tell them it's privatized insurance.
Answer: Because no matter how expensive the drugs are, they no longer have to pay months of the donut hole and trying to hit the $8,000 out of pocket. It also protects them from oral chemo and other medications.
Answer: Medicare.gov will give you a specific answer. If you want a definitive answer, go there and type your zip code and all of your medications, as well as where you want them filled and it will tell you.
Answer: Yes, a medicare supplement is secondary to medicare. If you had a Medicare Advantage then it would combine everything into one play and would then be the primary insurance.
Answer: You will need to make sure that everything transitions. If you're on a Medicare Advantage plan you'll need to change the plan. If you're on the Medicare Supplement you'll need to change the address with the company, but you can keep the insurance you have.
