Q&A with Danny Radisewitz
Answer: No situation is the same! The folks we work with have individual needs that are different from their friend, family and experts around the water cooler. We help navigate a path with you to guide our clients on what's most important to them.
Answer: We host Educational Workshops that allow folks turning 65 a chance to hear questions that most people have but are too afraid to ask!
Answer: The people who get frustrated the most are the ones that listen to too many friends and family and get overwhelmed with the direction they should go. We ask questions and listen...and support your decision to follow a path that you comfortable with.
Answer:
It depends! We are careful to use " depends" in a Senior discussion! Lol!
Enrolling in a premium free Part A Medicare could penalize someone who is trying to maximize their Tax Free accumulation goal. However, in most cases enrollment in Part A is a good strategy if there is no Health Savings Account available for our clients. Enrolling in Part B and keeping your Employee Group Coverage or disenrolling is a complex and should only be made after meeting with a highly competent Medicare licensed agent.
Answer: We have done hundreds of Medicare meetings and workshops! In all of our experiences we have learned this very important bit of knowledge " it's not what you know that gets you into trouble, what get most folks turning 65 in trouble is the things they think they know...that ain't so"! Trust but verify! We enroll our clients in both Original Medicare with Supplemental Health and Prescription Plans and Medicare Advantage Plans everyday. So, pick a path that you fell great about, not what others might think best for you.
Answer: Selecting the best Prescription Plan without breaking the bank doesn't have to be hard! Sitting down with a knowledgable agent who can explore different plans that are available in your area and then explain how certain plans are designed for folks with different needs. The average Medicare Beneficiary takes four maintenance medications daily. Most of those are Generic and are low cost. However, if you are taking a Brand medication that you see on TV often, your plan will usually be much different. Having a relationship with a knowledgeable agent is always the best solution to Selecting an affordable plan!
Answer:
Communication is key! Be a good listener and ask them frequently " How do you feel?"
Be understanding! Considering retirement, enrolling in Social Security and Medicare can be overwhelming.
Answer: The answer to your question about whether your Hospital stay will be covered in full will depend on if you currently have any additional coverage i.e- Employee Group Coverage or Veterans Administration Benefits. If someone only has Medicare Part A you will first have to pay a large deductible that varies each year. If you have Employee group coverage you will either pay the Part A deductible first OR be responsible for your Hospital deductible that you selected.
Answer: Its always a tough when you hear about any diagnosis from a Health Care professional regarding Diabetes. If you watch the news at all, you know that any Diabetes related health condition is serious and effects a large part of our population. Medicare provides several "Preventive Services'" that come at low or no Out of Pockets costs. Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP) is a comprehensive One Time health behavior change program is available to help you prevent Type II diabetes. Common services like Diabetes Screening and monitoring, Medical Nutrition, foot exams and Hemoglobin A1C, Glaucoma Screenings as well as "Welcome to Medicare" preventive visits are design to address your diagnosis and prevent it from getting worse! Your Medicare agent can educate you on what is available to you! If you are new to Medicare you will love it!
Answer: I loved the short answer to this question Apply for LIS/Extra Help! Its easy to do, it doesn't take long and if you are not eligible "NO BIG DEAL"! You don't need to go to any government office and set a future appointment. Just APPLY! You won't regret it!
Answer:
If you take any Brand medications you know that the costs of these medications are costly! Often times there are no Generic alternatives available and Medicare recipients are forced to pay the high copays for them each month and the monthly plan premiums and deductibles! The New Inflation Reduction Act has limited a seniors out of pocket maximum to $2000 a year. Remember, the $2000 total does not include your monthly plan premium! A good idea for those that are taking Brand medications and enrolling in Medicare in 2025 work with a local agent to identify all the ways to reduce your costs! i.e- Extra Help and Medicare Savings programs!
Also, ask about the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan. This is a new service to help spread out your payments so you don't have sticker shock on your first few visits to your local pharmacy! Good Luck!
