Q&A with Tyrone Carr
Is it true that Medicare pays for dental implants?
Answer: Not true (in most cases). Routine dental services, including implants, is not covered by basic Medicare (A and B).
If dental procedures are needed during a hospital inpatient visit, as a result of an underlying medical condition, Medicare part A may cover it.
If you are interested in Medicare coverage for dental implants or any other routine dental treatment, dental coverage is available through:
- Advantage plans
- Supplement plans
- Dual Special Needs plans
Is it ok to meet with multiple Medicare Brokers and Agents as I start looking for help?
Answer: It's all about who you feel comfortable with, but getting 2nd opinions is always a good idea. Talk to friends who are on Medicare to find referrals. Also research local agencies online and vet their feedback and reviews on Google, Facebook, etc.
I don't understand how my friend pays nothing for their plan and I pay over $200-are these plans just totally random by ZIP code?
Answer: Location can absolutely play a role in your costs. For plans like Advantage, Prescription Drug, or Medigap, plans can differ, depending on which carriers are available in your state or ZIP. For Part D, available plans and costs can vary greatly depending on your location (ZIP), prescription, dosage, and refill frequency.. just to name a few.
So my friend told me I should just go with the cheapest Medicare plan. That sounds too simple - what am I missing?
Answer: Everyone is unique, so making sure you cover all bases to avoid any pitfalls or gaps in coverage is absolutely critical. You could be looking at huge out of pocket expenses that could be avoided by sitting down with a Medicare professional to ensure your coverage is appropriate.
What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?
Answer: With so much misinformation and predatory actors surrounding the Medicare landscape, it's more important than ever to get real advice from a local consultant that can provide accurate information, and affordable options that suit your unique needs. In addition, the emergence of A.I. has created confusion for many folks. We implore anyone looking to make Medicare choices to avoid A.I. platforms, and contact a local agent that will have accurate, up-to-date information.
