Sonia Jensen, Medicare Insurance Broker
About Me
I’m an independent insurance agent specializing in Medicare, Life Insurance, Long-Term Care, Disability Insurance, and Annuities since 2008. I work with all the major insurance carriers to offer my clients the right coverage tailored to their unique healthcare and financial needs.
I serve clients throughout California and am also licensed in Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Washington. Whether you’re aging into Medicare, planning for retirement, or protecting your income and loved ones, I provide personalized insurance solutions designed to fit your life stage and budget.
With deep knowledge of the insurance landscape, I carefully analyze plan designs—focusing on low costs, comprehensive benefits, and proper coverage structure. I offer unbiased recommendations and side-by-side comparisons so you can make informed decisions with confidence.
If a client relocates to another state where I’m licensed, I’ll research all available plan options to ensure seamless coverage and continued peace of mind. As an independent broker, my services come at no cost to you—I’m compensated by the insurance companies I work with, not by my clients. My goal is simple: to help you find the best coverage that supports your health, finances, and future.

Q&A with Sonia Jensen
What is the biggest mistake seniors make when enrolling in Medicare?
Answer: Not completing due diligence when selecting a healthcare plan can lead to serious consequences. It’s essential to research all available plans to ensure the chosen option meets both healthcare and financial needs. Failing to work with an experienced agent who understands all plan options can be detrimental and risky. Without proper guidance, individuals may lose access to their preferred doctors or find that their prescriptions are not covered, resulting in unexpected costs and disruptions in their care.
I have Medicare A and B, which was secondary to my large group health plan. My spouse passed away in late June 2025, and his company is providing COBRA coverage for six months, through January. If I wait until then, will I still have guaranteed issue for a Medicare supplement, or do I have only 63 days from June 30 (until Sept 1) to enroll? I'm in CO
Answer: Hello there,
Cobra is not considered as creditable coverage by Medicare. You have 63 days to enroll into Medicare Supplement Plan with a guarantee issue. Unless your Medicare Part B started within the last 6 months. Then you have 6 months to sign up for Medicare Supplement Plan with a guarantee issue. Hope this helps!
