Margie at the Stephenville, TX office was great! Margie helped me understand this Medicare for this soon to be 65 year old! I plan on telling my friend that will be 65 in December about Margie and the wonderful help understanding this process. I will be setting up my SSA account to get this started and finished with Margie! Thanks for this company to help with insurance needs!

As I prepared to enroll in Medicare, I asked my friends for recommendations on who to go to for assistance. The overwhelming response was Kannonball. They were right. Marjorie made the process easy, answered every question, and got me set up quickly and with the exact plans I needed. I couldn’t be more pleased.

I had an excellent experience with Kannonball Insurance Solutions and highly recommend them to anyone looking for help navigating health insurance options. Sarah H. provided fantastic customer service and support throughout the entire process. She was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and helpful in evaluating the health insurance policies available to me through the ACA Marketplace and helping me choose the best option for my needs. What really stood out was how proactive and supportive she was. Sarah interacted directly with the insurance company on my behalf and made sure they received everything they needed, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Kannonball Insurance Solutions truly goes above and beyond for their clients. They are also able to help people choose Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement (Medigap) insurance plans, making them a great resource for a wide range of insurance needs. Highly recommended!

Q&A with Rebecca Davis
As a senior, what should I know about the differences between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage before I choose?
Answer: There are lots of things to know but 2 very specific ones is that original Medicare does not have a max out of pocket on part B so no matter the size of the bill you will owe 20% over and over again, where a Medicare Advantage plan does have a max out of pocket, so once you hit that the plans covers you at a 100% for the rest of the year as long as its medically necessary, and approved by the plan.
The other thing I would say is how networks work. Original Medicare uses the Medicare network so as long as the doctor or the hospital etc take Medicare they will accept your original Medicare card and you don't need a referral. With a Medicare Advantage plan, you have to use the specific carrier's network, they have PPO's, HMO's and more but those are the 2 main ones. The doctors must take the plan with an HMO no exception and with a PPO they must be willing to bill it. If your doctors don't take the plan then you will have to pay the bill yourself, so always make sure your doctors are covered.
There is a laundry list of things you need to know, you can reach out at any time.
My mom is considering switching to a Medicare Advantage plan because her friends say it's better. She's scared of losing her current doctors. How can we check?
Answer: All Advantage plans are network based so you defiantly need to check your doctors against any plan you are considering. Many others miss this step and it can be a real problem in the future. Using a reputable agent can check for you, you can also call the carriers directly and ask about the doctor specifically.
I'm considering concierge medicine but already have Medicare. How would these work together?
Answer: What a great question, many of our clients are using concierge for their primary care needs but unfortunately for surgeries and hospital stays it just does not work. So keeping your Medicare in good standing with either a Supplement or a Medicare Advantage plan is still recommend. Oh and don't forget you still need the prescription coverage to.
If your concierge doctor does not take Medicare, then just pay cash for that doctor and keep your medicare up for any other issues that arises that your concierge doctor can not handle.
Hope this helps.
Do Medicare Advantage plans work in rural areas?
Answer: Yes absolutely they can but make sure you verify that your doctors and hospitals take them in the area.
I'm on Medicare Part B, and I'm wondering how my physical therapy visits are covered. Do I have to hit my deductible first?
Answer: If you only have original Medicare then yes you will have to pay the $257 deductible first then 20% of the bill each time.
I've been on disability for years and am about to turn 65. Do I automatically get Medicare because I'm on Social Security, or do I need to do something?
Answer: Yes you should automatically be put onto original Medicare about 3 months before you turn 65. You will still need to pick your drug plan and supplement plan to go with it though.
My friend gets SilverSneakers with her plan and I don't-how are we both paying for Medicare and getting such different stuff?
Answer: The extra benefits like Silver Sneakers are not a Medicare benefit but instead a plan benefit and each plan varies. Without knowing exactly what you are on it’s hard to say if you do or don’t have it on your plan. Open enrollment does start on the 15th and if that feature is important you can look at a new plan for next year with the benefit on it. Hope that helps!
What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?
Answer: A good trusted Medicare agent can save clients from major headaches like penalties, network issues, billing issues, claims issues and more. A good agent also knows all the eligibility requirements and they may know that you can qualify for something that maybe you didn’t know you could qualify for. Your agent should be a trusted advisor and a key part of your retirement planning. Good agents are worth their weight in gold!
Why does Medicare allow insurance companies to bombard seniors with confusing mail and TV ads?
Answer: Actually they don’t. CMS centers for Medicare and Medicaid have big rules around it. Ads are not supposed to be deceptive or misleading. If you see an ad and believe it is you need to report it to Medicare so they can get it taken down and look into the company posting it. Bad advertising is very frustrating not only for our Medicare beneficiaries but also to hard working agents that are trying to do right by their clients.
