I've been a State Farm Customer since 2014. They've always been great and I a huge on Loyalty so when I moved back from South Dakota I kept them as my insurers. I just want to let it be known, that when I found Phil Goodge and Isabel over here at the Palm Springs Address, EVERYTHING CHANGED. They are some of the most honest, caring and amazing people I've met! They help me with everything, from questions to policy changes and everything in between! They also reach out to me to let me know when something changes that could benefit little old me! Simply Amazing. If I could give 10 stars, I definitely would. Thank you to Isabel, Mr Goodge and everyone over there at that State Farm office. I couldn't be happier with them.

Phil Goodge has been in the business of pleasing his huge family of clients for many years. And the MAIN reason he has such a huge clientele is because each one of us receive such excellent care. Phil hires people who instinctively know the importance becoming a family-like operation offering family-first, start-to-finish service. Take Lily for instance: Mr.Googe has relied successfully on Lily's daily coordination of customer care concerns by updating all Phil's customers who need help with pertinent & timely information and tips using thorough and constant follow-ups until she is complely satisfied that THE CUSTOMER is satisfied, too. So efficient and proven is Lily that Phil doesn't bother to come into the office on Friday's any more. He figures, correctly, that he'll only get in Lily's way! Lily's a young bundle of energy who patiently listens to my problems, repeats what I've told her so that we both have a clear understanding of my needs or dilemma, and then she begins guiding me (all the while keeping a great sense of humor) to a detailed yet simply stated resolution plan. She helped me understand that it would take her 2 to 3 days to resolve the problem completely because necessary information would have to be updated step-by-step insuring that the problem that I had would REMAIN resolved. That's the kind of service I have enjoyed from Phil, himself, and from everyone of his associates for over thirteen years. Do yourself a favor. Become a client of Lily's & Phil Goodge's. You simply can't do better. ~ Jeff Jones

Q&A with Phil Goodge

I've heard about IRMAA affecting my Medicare premiums. How can I find out if it applies to me, and how does it work?

Answer: You can go to www.medicare.gov for the income tiers that could impact this surcharge or simply use Google to easily find this information. The concept is that Americans with high incomes will pay more for their Medicare benefits.

If I need long-term care in the future, how does Medicare fit into that plan, and what should I be doing now to prepare?

Answer: Medicare does not include benefits for long-term care assistance so it's important to have other plans for the potential cost of long-term care, which can be very expensive. A long-term care insurance policy is one way to obtain coverage, and another way is a Universal Life insurance policy with a long-term care rider. I am able to help with the life insurance option.

Is Original Medicare or Medicare Advantage better? Why do you recommend one over the other?

Answer: Neither one is inherently better. It depends on your unique situation, which is why working with a trained insurance agent can help guide you through the decision process.

So I heard something about Medicare drug costs being capped at $2,000 in 2025. Is that really happening or just talk?

Answer: It is a fact. This was a priority of the Biden Administration and as of 1/1/2025, pharmacy medication co-pays are now limited to $2000. Some other helpful changes have also occurred such as limited the cost of Insulin to $35 per month.

What should I do with my Medicare plan if I'm diagnosed with a rare disease requiring specialists?

Answer: It depends on what Medicare insurance plan you have (ie, Medicare with Supplement or have Medicare Advantage in place of Medicare). With the Supplement, you can go to the Specialist without prior approval provided they bill Medicare and if with Medicare Advantage, have your Primary Care Physician help you with a referral.

What do you like most about being a Medicare agent?

Answer: Of the various types of insurance I assist people with, I find Medicare insurance to be the most rewarding as people find it very confusing and appreciate it when I can bring clarity to their situation and guide them through the process of selecting the best plan for their unique needs.

Can Medicare pay for my groceries?

Answer: While Medicare helps a lot for medical-related expenses it is not designed to provide groceries. Some Medicare Advantage plans offer OTC medications and supplies which can be helpful to one's budget.
