Peter Abilla, Medicare Insurance Agent

About Me

Peter Abilla is a licensed Medicare insurance agent and the founder of Resting Sycamore Advisors, based in South Jordan, Utah. He holds insurance licenses in Utah, Ohio, and Pennsylvania and helps people understand their Medicare options, compare plans, and enroll without pressure.

Before medicare insurance, Peter spent two decades solving hard operational problems at some of the most demanding companies in the world. He was a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt at Amazon, where he served on the founding "2 Pizza Teams" behind what became FBA, Amazon Prime, and Marketplaces. At eBay, he built the company's process improvement curriculum and trained more than 200 associates. At Kaiser Permanente, he worked as a Master Black Belt on projects focused on the patient experience, where he saw how a small administrative error, like a delayed medical card or a misspelled name, can turn into real financial and medical stress for a family.

Then his mom fell.

What had been professional became personal. Watching his own family work through healthcare decisions under stress convinced him that people deserve clear explanations from someone who treats these choices with the weight they carry.

That is the job now. When Peter meets with a client, he looks at the same things that matter in any high-stakes decision: your doctors, your prescriptions, your networks, your budget, and how you actually live. No jargon. No rush. Just a clear picture of the options so you can decide what fits.

Peter holds an MS in Computer Science with a focus in Operations Research from the University of Chicago. He has built and sold two companies, including an online tutoring marketplace that grew to more than 120,000 tutors before its sale to a NYSE-listed company. He lives in Salt Lake City with his wife and children.
