Q&A with Michael Ross
Answer: No, you will not have a penalty.. when you wife retires or those 7 years are "up" then you need to get your Part B. You will need proof of credible coverage at that time. Same would apply for your wife. You both may want to do some cost justification. Some Medicare plans may be a good fit for you. I would look into options that are available to you.
Answer: The Medicare extra Help for New York State has not changed for the Year 2026. There has not been any indication thus far of any changes moving forward.
Answer:
It is always best to check with your Agent or Health Care Provider. I say this because there are many different MRI's, scans etc...
In general, services considered preventative by Medicare are normally allowed at no cost or a small copay depending on your insurance plan. I always recommend to my clients that they ask questions and get answers before leaving the doctors office. Again, there are many different types of scans when it comes to imaging. The doctors office or billing department must check with your insurance carrier and they must be transparent to you when determining if your imaging is covered and considered preventative by Medicare.
Answer: Hello, Medicare allows you to sign up for Part A and Part B 3 months before your 65th birthday and up to 3 months after your 65th birthday.
Answer: I would advise to review the plan with a Licensed agent. not all plans are created equal. A needs analysis must be done in order for an Agent, like myself to make the proper recommendations for you. Do not just chose to take the cheapest one "just because".
Answer: Mammograms are considered a preventative service. Yes, a mammogram is covered. You may go for the services annually. Other examples of preventative services include a colonoscopy, and vaccines.
Answer: In order to link Tricare and/or VA benefits with Medicare, a member needs to have their Medicare part A and part B in good standing. If the member has only part A, then they must acquire their part B if they would like to acquire a specialized Medicare plan for Veterans. I provide these plans for veterans. It is an honor for me to provide extra benefits for those who have served our country.
Answer: Having both Medicare and State Medicaid allows you to qualify for what we call a Dual Special Needs Plan(D-SNP). Depending on your level of state Medicaid , determines your extra benefits. I help you through the entire process of acquiring these extra benefits.
Answer: The absolute best way to ensure your plan continues to cover any present and future illnesses is to communicate consistently with your agent !! I recommend this to all of my clients. Help me help you by letting me know of all changes. I always give my clients my phone number and email.
Answer: Anything considered preventative to Medicare is covered at no charge to you. Good luck and stay healthy for the new year
Answer: Easy !! Go to www.medicare.gov and search lost/replace Medicare card or call the phone number provided on the website. Speak to an operator and ask them to mail you out a new card at no charge. It's that simple.
Answer: First and foremost, I perform a needs assessment which in turn allows me to make the proper recommendations based on your healthcare needs. Next, we will determine the costs of these plans to be sure you do not let these plans out-price your current and future budget.
Answer: A licensed Medicare agent is required every year to recertify with all the Medicare carriers that they are licensed with. We have to know all new rules, laws, regulations and current changes to Medicare and the Healthcare plans. This is extremely valuable information for your healthcare. We are also required to recertify our licensing with continuing education which is mandated by Federal and State law in order to provide you with healthcare.
Answer: For the upcoming new year of January 1, 2026 you're Medicare deductible will be increasing. This was the first increase in quite a while. It does not change every year but this year there is an increase.
