Shouldn't Medicare do more to address health disparities among minority seniors?

Answer: The current Medicare system does not have any discrimination based on race, religion, sex, gender, or any other protected classification. The eligibility requirements are based on age and working credits (paid into the program) typically. Individual disability status can also play a role into obtaining Medicare. None of those requirements are connected to having more or less access to the Medicare system based one of the protected class statuses. Anyone who meets those criteria above has the same access to Medicare as each of the others that meet the same criteria.
