Q&A with Maureen Gildea

Answer: Some Medicare Advantage plans have OTC benefits that can assist with purchasing these type of items.

Answer: There is not really a disadvantage with the exception of a small network of providers on the particular plan the individual may have chosen for themselves. Having only A & B without a supplement or Advantage plan can leave a person responsible for a large out of pocket if they have a costly medical event. Supplements are best however, a Medicare Advantage plan is appealing as lots of plans have zero monthly premiums and include Part D drugs eliminating the need to purchase a stand alone Part D plan. Reach out if you need more assistance.

Answer: This benefit varies depending on the plan you choose. Some cover only preventative and others cover both comprehensive dental and preventative care. There are lots of plans that don't cover any dental benefits at all. Reach out to your favorite Agent if you require more assistance. The ABC's of Medicare is not only a lot of information to try absorbing but there are instances and circumstances that could make a great Option for one individual NOT the best Option for another person.
