Matt Temmen, Medicare Insurance Broker

About Me

Hello, my name is Matt Temmen. I have personally helped over 1,300 people with their transition to starting Medicare. I get it, it's overwhelming, confusing and you just want it done. You just don't want to make a mistake along the way. That's where I can help! We make the entire process easy by helping you apply for Medicare, compare Medicare Advantage vs Supplement and then going through your drug costs.

If you're already on Medicare we can help lower your Medicare Supplement rate or help you find a more beneficial Medicare Advantage plan. Overall anyone can sign you up and never answer the phone when you need help. We help you along the way and every single year we will do a check up with you to make sure you're in the right spot for the upcoming year.

I was satisfied in getting my supplemental Health Insurance. I just wonder if there's a way to streamline the application process. I was on the phone for nearly an hour. Other than that everything went reall6 well and y'all saved me $150 a month on my Social Security Disability pay.

Q&A with Matt Temmen

How do I report a suspicious Medicare billing error without getting in trouble myself?

Answer: You can reach out to CMS directly or even call your local law enforcement. You didn't do anything wrong, you're just trying to protect others.

What's the best way for seniors to protect themselves from Medicare-related scams?

Answer: I would suggest keeping your phone on silent. If you actually want to speak with an agent, reach out to them proactively and schedule an appointment.

What do I do if I cannot afford my Medicare premiums?

Answer: You can apply for state Medicaid that will help you pay for some or all of your Medicare Part B premium. You will need to make sure you fall into the income and asset guidelines.

I changed my plan during Open Enrollment and now I can't see my regular specialist. Isn't this what the whole review period is supposed to prevent?

Answer: Yes, that is the thought behind the annual enrollment period. The good news is you still have the OEP which is January 1-March 31 to make a one time change to get you with a plan that accepts your specialist!

Can you describe a time when you helped a client navigate a complex Medicare issue?

Answer: Yes, issues like IRMAA appeal or even getting Medicare Part B back into place after it lapsed due to a divorce. We have helped thousands of clients work through these situations.

What should I look for in a Medicare plan if I travel frequently both domestically and internationally?

Answer: I would suggest a Medicare supplement Plan G and when you travel internationally I would suggest some sort of travel insurance. Medicare can cover you overseas but I would never recommend counting on it.

I'm on a fixed income and struggling to afford my medications. What's this Extra Help program I've heard about for Medicare Part D?

Answer: The extra help program is for people like you where you can get reduced or even no cost medications as long as you are enrolled in a Medicare Part D program. I have helped hundreds of people enroll into this and it's help them save drastically on their medications.

What's the financial risk of sticking with Original Medicare without a Medigap plan?

Answer: You are liable for the 20% and unlike normal health insurance that will cap you at a certain point, original Medicare will never cap your costs. You have to continue to pay as long as the hospital or doctor keeps billing you.

I thought I was covered during my snowbird months in Florida, but apparently not. What kind of plan do I actually need for that?

Answer: I would suggest a Medicare supplement because you travel back and forth. This will give you the same coverage no matter where you are whether you're in Florida or Alaska you can go anywhere Medicare is accepted and still have the simple coverage of a Plan G or N.

What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?

Answer: We not only can help you with all the steps of starting Medicare (Applying Medicare, Enrollment into a Part D Plan, Supplement vs Advantage comparison) but we provide life long client support. Anyone can sign you up. We do that and keep in touch with you every year to make sure you're in the right place year over year.
