What do you like most about being a Medicare agent?

Answer: Coming from a healthcare background, I educate my clients on what Medicare covers and what it does not so they have a clear understanding of what option is best for them. Meeting one on one in person. They also feel empowered to make the decision knowing I will be there to answer questions for them. This is the area I enjoy the most about being a Medicare agent

Which is better: a Medicare Advantage Plan or a Medigap policy?

Answer: Medicare advantage plans are very attractive with low to $0 premiums, however, you are limited by networks and prior authorization. For some this can become an issue. These plans also can change benefits every year, Dr's can go out of network.

Medicare Supplement are more comprehensive in that there is no network and very little if any prior authorization, however, there is a premium. The plan benefits do not change every year, just the out of pocket costs.

The best way to determine which plan is better for your situation is to look at your personal circumstance medical, prescription as well as affordability

What type of Medicare coverage do I need to cover in-home caregivers?

Answer: Medicare does not cover in home caregivers for long term coverage. Once you go into what is no longer considered "skilled" care or long term care, per Medicare, you are 100% out of pocket unless you have a specific coverage for that care.

What's the most frustrating misconception you have to clear up with clients about Medicare every year?

Answer: The most common frustrating misconception that clients have about Medicare revolves around the penalties that can be imposed based on enrolling in Medicare A and B. How Medicare works with employee coverage and that enrolling in Medicare and keeping employer coverage is a good direction to take.
