About Me

I am Maria Prescod, an independent licensed Medicare advisor with a background that gives me a unique perspective on Medicare and Social Security.

Before becoming an insurance professional, I spent 13 years with the Social Security Administration helping people understand Medicare eligibility, retirement, disability, and other Social Security benefits. That experience taught me something I still believe today: when you are making an important decision about your healthcare or retirement, you deserve clear information, time to ask questions, and someone willing to listen.

That is how I serve my clients.

I take the time to understand your doctors, prescriptions, healthcare needs, budget, and priorities. Then I explain your Medicare options in everyday language and help you compare choices such as Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement (Medigap), and Part D prescription drug coverage.

My goal is not simply to help you choose a plan. It is to help you understand what you are choosing, why it may fit your needs, and what questions you should consider before making your decision.

Whether you are turning 65, retiring, becoming eligible for Medicare, or reviewing your current coverage, I can meet with you in the way that is most comfortable for you. Appointments are available by phone, virtually, or in person. When appropriate, I can also meet clients in their homes.

My Medicare education, plan comparisons, and enrollment assistance are provided at no cost to you.

I am based in Rhode Island, licensed in multiple states, and proudly serve clients in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Cape Verdean Creole.
