About Me

Medicare Made Simple—with Lynn Floyd

My name is Lynn, and I’ve been a Hoosier my entire life. I grew up around Shelby County and have been in Henry County for over 28 years. I’m here to help you navigate the complications of insurance—at no cost to you. Let’s explore your Medicare options together.

I’ve spent the past several years helping those on Medicare make informed decisions about their healthcare coverage. I specialize in guiding people through the complexities of Medicare, making sure they understand their options and avoid costly mistakes—especially when first enrolling.

I go beyond the basics by helping you explore opportunities to reduce your out-of-pocket costs. I assist in determining eligibility for programs that may help cover the Medicare Part B premium and other financial assistance options including RX cost.

For veterans and their families, I will show you plans that complement existing benefits like TRICARE For Life, VA and CHAMP VA coverage.

My mission is simple: to educate you and make Medicare easy to understand and help every client feel confident about their coverage.

Part of my service also includes teaching you how to stop those persistent Medicare calls.

Ongoing guidance, every step of the way. I'm just a call or text away.

Q&A with Lynn Floyd

Does Medicare cover SilverSneakers gym memberships?

Answer: Some Medicare Advantage plans include silver sneakers but traditional medicare does not cover that.

What's the cheapest way to get Medicare coverage if I only need basic hospital care?

Answer: Medicare Part A covers hospital care and if you have worked and paid into medicare taxes for at least 40 quarters (10 years) Part A is no cost to have but there is out of pocket cost when you do have hospital stays. The inpatient hospital deductible for 2026 is $1,736 per benefit period which covers 60 days. There are other options if you also activate your Medicare Part B. That’s more information than this space allows but hope that helps.

I want to switch to Medicare Advantage this year. How do I do this?

Answer: I would start by asking you questions about your situation to ensure you understand the impact of your decision. Then, if you still want to proceed, I would check to see if you have any Special circumstance that allows you to change now, or assist you during the Annual Enrollment Period this fall.

My Medicare Advantage plan covers dental, but I can't find a dentist who accepts it. Is this a common problem?

Answer: This is very dependent on who your plan is with and what area you live in. Many plans have a wide network, but again, it does depend on where you live.

Does moving to a new state let me switch from Medicare Advantage to Medigap without health questions?

Answer: Yes, if you move out of state, you should be eligible for a Guaranteed Issue right within a certain timeframe, to drop your Medicare Advantage plan and pick up a Medigap plan with no health questions.

What are the reasons why I should work with a Medicare agent?

Answer: I believe there are important facts that I find many people do not understand when they are initially getting into Medicare that an agent can educate on. I don't know that you will have that information by navigating it on your own.
